Yours and your friends morals , if you any, are questionable hence it is not surprising that you don't find it a problem as long as it is legally permissibe. Apartheid was legal but immoral. Legality does not equate to morally right.

@@simphiwemngadi2815 How old are you youngman? You seem to use words without understanding them at all. Apartheid and its laws were legal under that government. In 1948, after the National Party won that year's elections, Apartheid became a social project of the government based on a series of laws which made it legal. They can nominate anyone they want including former apartheid criminals- doesn't mean they should be appointed - just like you can charge anyone you want with theft - but when it gets to court or parliament etc that is where it should be filtered and accepted or rejected on rational grounds
Well objectively articulated.
The same argument must be made of the landless South African, the drafters of the constitution could have not foreseen that the rightful owners indigenous South Africans will still be landless by now therefore the constitution must be revisited

Context matters. On the context of SA politics Dr Hlophe is well place. SA has a tendency of applying law on the basis of who the individual is, not on the general prescriptions of the constitution. For that reason, i will argue that SA has less respect for the constitution, and it weaponise it to fight political battles

The issue of ethics has to do with public knowledge. Those in Freedom under law or any other NGO must understand one thing, they too have ethical issues which is not public knowledge. The same applies to judges and everyone else. The DA must be told the truth.
I don’t think morality should be used as a yardstick here but what is required is a certain ethical standard for one to be seconded to the JSC panel…
