In my opinion, organists are some of our most talented musicians, playing one of the most complex and challenging instruments. Organists are also the lone wolf, going on stage solo, yet having an entire orchestra at their fingertips. It is a truly one of a kind environment.

*NAILED IT!!!* Everything just flows like it should! I've heard Diane Bish play this, and her performance was good, but she actually slows down a bit halfway through the piece. This was very consistent and reminds me a bit of Walter/Wendy Carlos first 'Switched On Bach' album from the late 1960's.😍🎵🎶🎵👍👍

If I could have at least one gift in music it would become a consummate organist like this man! Amazing and so full of colour! Jonathan Scott definitely proves that, in the right, meaning best hands, and feet, the pipe organ is the King of Instruments!

I too though it may have been too fast but the phrasing wasn't lost. You have to play to the acoustics of the hall and this worked, it wasn't at all mushy as I first feared. It was delightful and joyous. Have a a glass of wine and relax. This is not a matter of life or death. Variation is the spice of life.

Talking about large audiences I went to a concert in the new Weiwuying Arts and Cultural Centre in Kaohsiung, Taiwan in 2018 to see the new massive 5 keyboard German built pipe organ. What a wonderful sound and it must be one of the great instruments of the World and certainly the largest in Asia. The auditorium was huge yet it was packed showing how much the organ is loved in Taiwan. If you travel there in future this is a must for organ lovers. I think Johnathon Scott has demonstrated the organ on you tube.

I have loved the pipe organ ever since I was a kid and heard one for the first time in church. While others would make their exit while the postlude was being played, I would sit mesmerized by the sound of the "king of instruments". Over the years I have heard and collected the recordings of some of the best organists who ever lived, including E. Power Biggs, Virgil Fox, Michael Murray and Diane Bish. As great as they were, Jonathan Scott surpasses them all in his talent. I only hope that he comes to the Untied States to perform, as I would love to see him live in concert.

First - I think it is too fast. Several others do as well. A little slowers and we can hear the inner lines a bit more clearly. What can you say about baroque music? All the notes were present, registration was good. This is a piece that has has a much to do with timing as the succession of notes. If all the notes are there and everything is in time and the registration is acceptable - this it turns out to be successful. The problem is - pieces like this have no emotion, only a rhythm. But this is also a crowd pleaser - as it should be. The audeince was quite happy. Job well done.
