The title is deceiving. 1776 is a displacement standard in air cooled VW and it is 90.5x69 bore/stroke. Displacement is 1776 but a destroked and overbored version is what we see... 94x64 So de-stroked w/larger bores, still 1776 cc's but super over square engine that should result in high RPM's. Info say's peak power at 10k the rev limiter is at 10,700rpm. Info says 140.6 HP per liter so for you non metric guys this would be like a normally aspirated Chevy 350 cranking out 800+hp with no power adders (NOS/Boost). Running near 11 flat with just shy of 250 HP is in the gears, rear engine, and weight. what an awesome combination we see here..... Crazy Sweedes.

You are correct that it is an awesome engine. Not correct that title is deceiving. It is a 1776cc engine, no other way to word it. If I had put 1600cc engine, now that would have been deceiving. The Tittle is just a short description, I can't start adding bore and stroke details in there. There is another cool video on KZread (not mine), of the car on the dyno. kzread.info/dash/bejne/mpunzNyNf9Cadag.html

The timer does not start until you actually leave the line, so it does not matter how early or late you leave.

thats totally amazing, but why is it only a 1776? that is an absolutely phenomenal time and speed, wouldn't putting in a bigger, more powerful engine make it even better? surely there is a reason, maybe there is a sub 1200c class or something, PLS someone explain!!!!

1770 is bigger than a sub 1200, did you mean sub 2000?

The transmission is only good for about 150 ft lbs of torque max. It was built for formula 3 cars where crazy torque/HP aren't necessary in a 550kg race car.

Gregory Shaffer The title says its sequential. Do they use a stock trans case and modified guts, or is it a totally aftermarket piece, I think is kind of what the op is asking. Or at least I am :)

I doubt there’s anything left that’s stock on that bug. Everything racing can be had for a bug. Eventually he’ll be in the 9’s.

That Hewland sequential gear box cost at least $7,000. They are very custom and expensive.

Bazooka Joe Yea I know they are wicked expensive , I had a catalog years ago (note catalog, not internet) for water cooled vw parts and they had a quaife sequential trans for sale starting at 15k😲

I was wondering how high was the owner reving his engine, and if the owner could tell us what are some of the parts he put into his 1776cc engine, such as valve sizes, and did he use things like titanium valves or con rods to get the revs out of it, etc.
