This is so well animated and inspiring.

I actually love the idea that it give us the lesson that hand drawn will always be alive no matter what. And it'll always make us happy to share new ideas and tell stories! 2D animation will survive everything.. we already see that 3D is quite exhausted and can't offer anything fresh except pretty dull princess faces.. meanwhile the best master-pieces ever were done and are going to be done by hands

I wish it could be cheaper. A lot of us artists are broke and I animate the hard way by saving each picture and putting them through windows movie maker XD well, at least im passionate. Maybe some day I'll have the passion to save up for this XO

hi, i also animate the hard way but instead of windows movie maker i use opentoonz, it's a free use software!! maybe you can check it out if you're interested

I love this animation, what a great artist!

Did enjoy using it but the price probably needs to come down. Certainly due to how powerful and ahead open toonz is to majority of all the programs that were currently out it would likely help more people into buying this program

Who doesn't love the idea of free software ? But for me OpenToonz is unstable and crashes a lot on Mac, to the point it was unusable (I tried several iterations of OpenToonz , a few years apart , including recently in 2021 ... it hasn't improved , at least not the Mac version) I have rarely had a crash with TVPaint. Maybe a few times (not more than 5 times) in over 10 years of using it. The only time TVPaint ever crashed was when I was trying to work on outrageously large files of 10GB - 12 GB (too much for my old Macbook with only 16GB RAM). For my money, TVPaint is a great investment. I use it for almost everything (painting and illustration, not only for animation).

This is the one animation I look back to anytime I need more art inspiration 💖

what is the best file encoding to upload to youtube in when exporting? I feel like this looks better fidelity than my animation, but im watching both at 360p

TVP is great, but so so expensive. Even studios cannot afford it because the license is only for one system! :(

But studios DO use TVPaint. All professional production software is expensive. Studios who use TVPaint include Cartoon Saloon (four feature films: 'Song of the Sea', 'The Breadwinner', 'Wolfwalkers', 'My Father's Dragon' , also a number of short films) , Studio La Cachette (they do the animation production on Genndy Tartakovsky's 'Primal' and his upcoming 'Unicorn: Warriors Eternal' and they have done episodes of 'Love, Death, and Robots'), Lupus Films ('Ethel & Ernest' , 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' , 'The Tiger Who Came To Tea' , and others) . Also Sun Creature Studio, Studio AKA, Passion Pictures, Golden Wolf . There are others I could name, such as Minnow Mountain and Submarine Animation who do the animation for the series 'Undone' on Amazon Prime. The 'Simon's Cat' series on KZread is made using TVPaint. (originally using Flash, but they switched to TVPaint several years ago)

Hello. To use TVPaint, you need to have a dongle plugged into your computer (this is a USB key). Without this dongle plugged in, you can't use the software. That's why we need to send you this dongle when you purchase.

TVPaint Animation works on Windows, Mac and Linux. If you're talking about a Microsoft Surface Pro, if you have Windows 10 on it you can use a 64bit version of TVPaint without problems. :)

The price is the only thing stopping me from getting this. Don't get me wrong, if I could afford it I totally would, but €250 is simply too far beyond my paycheck, even the drawing tablet I have is the most basic. Paint tool SAI is more around the best price for a one off programme at £30 - I don't even make money from my art as its just a hobby for me, it would be the same with animation. I think a better price would be around the £50-£60 mark.. At least as a one off sale to allow beginners to delve into the programme.
