I appreciate your observations. Steve is amazing 🎵🎶🎵 Seldom does anyone mention the way he squares up his posture and grounds himself, particularly for challenging portions of the songs. You should react to Mother Father live in Houston. Unbelievably vocals!

An absolutely iconically unique voice paired with great songwriting, storytelling and of course amazing music. This band got me through a very dark place in my life as a teen and I'll always be grateful for that. There will always be something magical about Journey.

I've seen this video and heard this song hundreds of times over the past 40 years, yet I still get a chill during the opening chords of Jonathan playing the piano. Just like I did sitting in the stands at Brendan Byrne Arena in 1982 watching these guys. I've had the pleasure of seeing some of the greatest voices in rock live. Steve in '82 & '83, Ann Wilson in '77, Dennis DeYoung in '78 & '83 and probably the greatest ever Freddie Mercury in '80 & '82.

DR. I've listened to a lot of 'reactions' and most of them comment on their outfits, hair, etc. and very little about the actual singing and music. You actually comment on the music, which is what I want in a reaction video. Job well done!

Interesting thing about the color of the voice across the range. It seems Luis Miguel has that quality too, maybe you can check him out doing "la incondicional" live. Its mind blowing how he can keep a range of notes with the same full voice. I think they are 2 in a million.

If you want to get blow away even more, I highly Highly suggest watching the song "Mother Father" live from the same concert. It is a powerful song and one Steve admitted it is the hardest one to sing yet he makes it look easy with the range he gives it. It is also a very good one instrumentally.

"And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music." Nietzsche. Amped up by your inspired and sophisticated views on the Steve Perry voice phenomena. Your voice appreciation meter is on another higher level for sure, but its fun to hear how professional musicians react to Steve Perry's voice. That song and band has been my background music for years since the late 70s and yet the voice and song pass and exceed the test of time. Those initial chords grab you in this song never let up, and mesmerize you somehow like I'm sure a King Cobra is mesmerized by certain sounds from a flute. Even as a grown man, this song can stop you in the car to tune into the delight of Steve Perry's voice on Sirius satellite radio. Admire your sophisticated musical ear, elegant beauty, and yet graceful wit. Look forward to your next video. Until then, I "won't stop believing" that Steve Perry has more musical heights to reach. Dom Perignon cheers. New US subscriber.
