I know I'm late but damn this gave me the chills

To be honest, I really thought I was playing with some AI. However, I never knew any AI who would do the things my friend did. Waited for me, took a lot of hits, and guided me when things got rough. I avoided this game thinking it was an indie puzzle bland game. I was soooooooo wrong. It's that one kind of game that gives you that one feeling, that one thing no other game can give... I don't know what that feeling is called, but I felt a lot of it since the very beginning, until the end. Thank you for playing with me... random person.

Yeah, I completed it the first time bumping into barely anyone. But the second time, a white robe guided me and helped me up when I randomly fell (my video game ability is appalling!) etc and showed me all the secret achievements and stuff and awww it was actually one of the sweetest things- it was such a different experience. And when I became a white robe, I went and did the same for someone else and :)

I played this game the day it was released, it just looked so dreamy and i stayed up way too late to finish it. I was crying to myself when it ended and audibly gasped when i realized the companions I'd had along the way were real people who were also up way too late sharing an incredibly story with me. I just sat and cried at the sheer beauty of it all. Thank you to every single person I have ever crossed paths with in this game, I love you all even if you will never read these words

One case that has amazed me most in recent years has been Journey, a title that in its less than three hours, does get you, surprise you and even put tears in your eyes. In Journey, there is no dialogue, no names or battles, there is only one destiny, a mysterious journey and an incredible soundtrack, and that makes it just perfect.

I played this game and I cried overwhelmed by emotion. I let my best friend play it through while I observed mostly silently, and he also cried. My wife had tears streaming down her face just listening to me describe the game and the silent companionship of the online component. There is something truly masterful, unique and genius about this game. It's a deeply visceral experience.

Is 2020, the people in the world is in quarantine. Im in my house, thinking about the future, then I downloaded this game for free. I played it, i finished it and enyoyed it. My partner in this aventure always are by my side and clear the game together. My emotions rise in tears, the bonds between us were strong. I made a new friend in real life. Actually im listening this masterpiece in my window, and i see a couple of birds flying together far away in the sky and I inmediately think: "those birds are my new friend and i playing JOURNEY".

Boots Bootybreath The Japanese bit is actually slightly wrong. Not just in your lyrics, but the whole song. It's supposed to be "hito nashi ni", not "nishi". Nishi means west.

I’m in a high school band and we are playing this song and I have to say that it is truly the most beautiful song that I have had the opportunity to play.

I listened to this because I thought it could help me go to sleep. The memories are back and I'm crying.

Journey isn't a game, it's a work of art. You didn't shoot terrorists or slay demons or frag other players online. Instead, you helped another person. Maybe he didn't need help and left you. Maybe you needed his help, and followed in his footsteps. Or maybe you both needed help, and stayed together just for companionship. Whatever the reason, you and your companion walked the same paths, conquered the same obstacles, and shared the same Journey. And neither of you will forget that experience.

Hands-down, the only game I have ever played in my life to have given me the pleasure of an emotional roller-coaster akin to the ups and downs of life itself. I experienced happiness, fear, anxiety, sadness, despair, and an unparalleled sense of wonder while playing this game, and, I am very, very far from being ashamed to admit that I openly wept for half an hour upon finishing the game, for sheer joy and elation alone. This is not only a game, this, is a masterpiece; a work of visual and musical art combined into something that I doubt will ever be 'one-upped'. This game, and the music, connects on a deep level with its players, and the creative minds should be extraordinarily proud of that feat. I play this game once a week, since I have purchased it, almost religiously.

This music and this game go together hand in hand. Seperating them would be criminal.

Going in to this game I knew there was a possibility of another player being in my game. What I didn’t expect was a companion who stuck by my side the entire time. They showed me every secret and were very patient as I tried to figure my way around the levels. They chirped when I chirped and always stuck by me to refill my scarf. When I knew the end was near I was so shocked when I started tearing up. The crescendo of the music as my new friend and I soar through the clouds. I didn’t want it to end. But I am happy that it happened. I will never forget my companion and I will never forget my Journey.

they like "game-y" things and a lot of sony's endorsed indie games are not that "gamey" at all. Which is why I like them. Fuck leaderboards and rules and challenge and fast pace and all that other shit that doesn't belong in something I'm doing to have fun. :V Take solace in those people being a vocal minority on sony platforms. They'll never stop getting plenty of "gamey" things they enjoy and the occasional game that doesn't put a whole lot of emphasis on pressuring the player to complete objectives isn't going to hurt them.

Austin Wintory made the most beautiful thing i've ever heard.

The soundtrack compliments this game so damn well. The game itself is really heart warming, and adding this music makes it impossible not to finishing it without shedding some tears. This song specifically; after "passing to the other side" to reach the top of the mountain, it's just... gosh... can't really describe it with words. I remember playing with company the whole game, even dying together (according to my sister's theory of what happens) after reaching the summit... That person even drew a heart on the sand right at the very end before crossing to the light... I will never forget it.

J'ai joué à ce jeu il y a 2 semaines sans trop y croire, je ne m'attendais pas du tout à le finir et je l'ai fait d'une traite. C'est vrai que la durée de vie n'est pas longue mais l'atmosphère l'histoire qui est décrite était particulièrement prenante, et des semaines après y avoir joué j'y pense encore.... La bande originale est tout simplement superbe, elle colle très bien au jeu. Plus de jeux comme ça franchement une vraie découverte cela aurait été dommage de ne pas y jouer...👏🏻👌🏻 Merci aux créateurs.

I just now searched up the lyrics to this song. It had never occurred to me that the song actually transitions between several languages, particularly citing some of the most ancient works that we know of. Truly elevates this song to sound like all of humanity's forefathers saying goodbye, farewell, we've gone our own way. Definitely crying now. this game almost made me cry of joy. haven't felt those butterflies in my stomach from a game before

I started playing the game and I met them. They helped me get through the game. They must’ve finished the game, I thought. They helped me get through the ghostly sands. Though I lost connection. The time we spent together was very special. Very memorable. I remember them waiting for me when i was a bit slow. I remember flying with them in the dessert. Then our quick friendship came to an end. Though losing connection was devastating, I made my way slowly almost to the end. The snowy mountain. Still I wonder if they’re doing okay. Thank you for helping me.

It's just like real life. There is someone there to help you up, there to push you towards your goal. But then when they leave unexpectedly, you feel alone, vulnerable. Then, you can feel their force, just like they never left, knowing they will push you towards the right path.

I herd this song live here in Stockholm Sweden when video games live preformed it, the most beautiful experience in my life! I cried so much!=)

I recently went to Berwaldhallen for their concert The Score. This piece was the opening and it completely blew me away! I've got this game but have yet to play it.

Jenova did, indeed, mean for this game to be a beautiful piece of art depicting a metaphor of human life. It succeeds on a level that is impossible to describe or put words to. Austin Wintory is just as incredible as a composer creating such amazing music that perfectly falls in place with Journey and unlocks incredible emotion in our hearts. Jenova Chen, Austin Wintory, and all of thatgamecompany...THANK YOU. We need more people in this world like you guys.

this game felt less like a game and more like an interactive art piece, and i mean that in the best way possible

Every time I sing along to this and hit the 3:22 mark, I start off okay but then instead of hitting the high notes I just start bawling my eyes out: "je suiiiiiiiiiis, nee-eh-EEEEEHHHHHHHH WWWWHHAAAAAAAAHHHH"

I played Journey D-1. But the person i played with knew everything about the game. she was always behind me, she let me explore the world. Sometimes she went front of me to prevent danger, or to redirect me to an hide bonus. She was so happy to see me still here and congratulates me when I have found something that was hide. We were like a mother and her son. I realize today i maybe played with a dev ^^ that was a really nice experience.

The way every time I hear this music, it brings back all the feelings from playing Journey.

Still one of the best metaphorical and literal journeys to grace the senses. Other must-play-before-you-die games: Shadow of the Colossus, Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP, Ico.

Journey was such a beautiful game that i played it twice, and that soundtrack and the orchestra, nothing compares to the other games ive played. it's easily one of my top favorite games.

Truely not the end of a game, but a new beginning.

What I love most about this song is how it relates to the Hero's Journey theme in Journey. The first song in the OST is named Nascence, meaning birth, and the 17th one is Apotheosis, meaning either rising to godlike status after being reborn, or is the climax of a certain event. It literally comes full circle as the game does and it basically tells us: "You were born for this" which I think personally is the reason behind this song. The lyrics and instrumental are bittersweet, like a death that is peaceful and accepted and then is uplifting when saying the last 2 lines of the song: "Do not Pity me, I was born for this."

Had I known what kind of music this game had, I would have bought it when it came out. Thankfully this was in the PSPlus list of free games for this month. Easily the best game to come out of their free list for a long, long time.

This soundtrack is absolutely wonderful, it really makes me want to play the game.

Journey dose something that few games have ever achieved it brought people from all around the world together and made Total strangers walk dance and sing together and to this day it is my all-time favorite video game.

What a beauty, over and over again... This is a masterpiece, thank you Austin Wintory for your inspired music, thank you Sony for allowing us to have this game-spiritual experience. If I ever would say what PS3 brought to my life, my answer would have Journey on the top, above many good experiences.

Not words for it but REVOLUTIONARY!! Never enjoy a game with such simplicity but so full of emotional events that draws the gamer closer and emotional attached to the character and the stranger that helps you in this journey. Its just an absolute delight to play a game that compares to none. Amazing. Great job From a loyal fan.

Still one of the most surreal experiences I've ever had in video games. Still takes my breath away.

This song never ceases to tear me up

I played with one companion the entire game and later got a friend request from the guy only to find out he was the person i hated most at the school i go to. Amazingly we became friends later. The joy of Journey is knowing a kind of bond you can share with a person you dont even know after putting your trust and survival in them for hours that feels like years of traveling together

Haven't even played this game and this music still moves me to tears.

Had tears in my eyes when I finished Journey two years ago. And again after seeing my 7 year daughter finish it 2 days ago.

During the game I'd always been lone wanderer. I wanted so much to meet someone, any living soul in this unfriendly world, but my goal was still the same. And I did it myself, alone. Don't pity me, because I was born for this.

Each time I listen to this masterpiece, tears starts coming down..🙏
