Journey inside Hazardous Power Plant | Abandoned Italy
Abandoned Italy (Season 3, Episode 07) Exploring an abandoned power plant contaminated with asbestos
In the final episode of our Abandoned Italy series, we're taking a leap in the dark. To round off our journey, we had a mission: to infiltrate a disused power plant contaminated with asbestos. The historical site in this video sits untouched for decades, and we were the first visitors in a while. We came here to rediscover what has long been forgotten. We have exciting news! In two weeks, we will host our first travel talk (it's in German though, sorry). In a theater in Dresden, so near the place where we grew up, we will have two live events in December. This will all about our Balkan journeys and our recent trip to Romania. In a multimedia presentation, we want to share photos, video clips and anecdotes. Check out this link if it sounds interesting: www.projekttheater.de/Spielplan/2022/Dezember/BROKEN+WINDOW+THEORY+-+Verlorene+Geschichten_743.html We would be happy to meet some of you there! Let us know if you have questions.

There is no way I’d crawl into that tiny dark creepy passage to get into that plant. Yikes! But once in there, what a wonderful exploration. The maze of stairs and catwalks was very cool. So weird to see what a high tech controller space looked like back then, compared to now. So much bare space between controls, such a large room. Amazing. Known asbestos and no masks, really guys? Don’t put yourselves at risk, please. Yet another view of Italy, and not a routine tourist one either. Thanks for bringing us along.

All of your work is exquisite, but I think you have the most fun with your industrial sites. They give you a lot of opportunities to play with light and shadow, angles and perspective, and unique compositions. I enjoy every single upload from you, as they are very transportive. More than simply documenting what you see, you create true art from it. Thank you so much for bringing such quality consistently. Stay safe out there.🖤🇨🇦

Amazing video. It’d be a good idea to use a good particulate mask if you know there is free floating asbestos though. I work around it a lot and am asbestos abatement certified. The stuff is no joke and it won’t necessarily affect you for many decades. Take care of yourselves

The way humankind lives right now is just destructive. But this doesn't mean we as a species are destructive, too. It's just how we lived for the past couple of thousand years. We should change that and live in harmony with nature again. Or humankind will destroy itself.

Not only asbestos. I can see some equipments even haven't been fully neutralized. There are pipes still under pressure. There can also be x-ray measuring/leak detection gauges there.
Another great video guys! Crawling in that tunnel was scary I don't know how u guys do it! Coal it opened the the industrial era but what it's done to the environment! In the US we leveled 500 mountains and destroyed 2000 miles of head waters of streams! Still like gas we can't break away from the need for coal! Then we have asbestos issues! How could we have known what we did!

Love your work!
Thoroughly enjoyed your season 3 and all the 7 episodes. I find these very interesting to watch and love the history of bye gone days. Thank you for sharing this history and do think we need to know the early days etc of working in these sort of premises and how we have learnt from the mistakes and hopefully will not be repeated. Here in Australia I worked for an Insurance company and the men who worked and residents who lived in The town of Wittenoom were exposed to Asbestos and to date many were affected. These people the miners, came to our office to collect Compensation for the terrible disease that they contracted and totally effected their health so badly that they died because of it. It was so sad to see them and collecting their cheque to pay for their expenses and once their health deteriorated then left behind a wife and children to cope without their dad/husband. Asbestos is a terrible disease and it can take up to 10 to 20 yrs before you know you have it.
another amazing video guys! so looking forward to more

Wow amazing location. And you guys never disapoint on the quality of your videos 😎
What a great explore. The details on the control boards was really cool. They didn't use paint or stickers for traces, they used aluminum trim the whole way. You never see anything like this anymore. It's all about cost cutting measures. No one is allowed artistic talent like this these days. There is something truly amazing about old power plants. They are the last to show what buildings in that age looked like, and the creativity and artistic talent that was allowed and encouraged during those years. Seeing some of the other places in the last scenes, I hope we get to see some of those too. Another thing I really hope you would consider is perhaps a way to purchase digital copies of your work for using as backgrounds on computers and such. Not sure if this would be possible, but I for one would love the chance to buy some. Thanks guys.

What are your limitations to exploring a place? Let's say someone gives you a fantastic, untouched mansion, a derelict shrine, or a castle. What are the questions you ask yourself before going there? Legality? (what happens when you get caught) Travel budget? (e.g. going to Japan) Local guides? (language, or even local urbex) Safety? (when would you nope out before even trying to enter?) Anything else?
