The fact that you observed that EVERY band member was singing got my sub.

This particular show was being filmed in Houston, so when he said Houston, the crowd went wild. In the original song you hear on record or radio, he sings “ born and raised in South Detroit”. This performance is definitely a masterpiece!

I was at this concert at The Houston Summit...a high school senior who made the concert rounds back in my day. Journey still stands out as the best live performers I've ever been privileged to see. No auto-tune, just pure unadulterated talent that's basically unmatched. Don't be afraid to jump down the rabbit hole!

This is all them, and zero help in making them sound better. Journey has pure talent, and Steve Perry is phenomenal.

If you notice , there are no ear mics , auto tunes, recorded back up vocals . It's just the band , pure talent . I was in my teens when Journey was at their peak !! I have seen them 4 times . They used to call Steve Perry the lead vocalist " the voice"" a Journalist once asked Freddie Mucury "what is like to be the best singer in Rock?" Freddie said " I don't know , ask Steve Perry"

Steve Perry is one of the greatest singers ever. He and Freddie Mercury of Queen were at the top of the heap mid 70s to mid 80s. Wheel in the Sky, Anyway you Want It, Mother Father, Faithfully are incredibly good songs. Best success on yr channel

This came out around 82 or 83 and is now a classic Gem

Journey was a San Francisco Bay area-based band. My late husband worked on their crew for a short while around the time this concert happened.

You know what is really amazing if you think about it is this is a live performance. And I think there are only 4 guys on stage. And Steve Perry's voice is one of the best I've ever heard for rock and roll. Just has excellent voice

journey with steve perry were the beast. in 1983, steve perry was voted the singer of the year by his peers (other singers/bands). he was also in the original "we are the world" song/video.

I saw their first 2 album tours in Tucson, AZ at the times they were released...'Escape' , and the 'Infinity' tours :)

Steve Perry and Journey are one of the very few acts that sounded BETTER live, due to the fact that they were basically a "super group" before that was a thing. Steve Perry could do ANYTHING with his voice at any time.

Welcome to one of the one popular bands of the70’s & 80’s. Steve Perry’s voice is perfection. Neil Schon, guitarist, was a prodigy and he played with Santana…as did another Journey founding member, Gregg Rolie (keyboard player and vocalist). Saw them in 1983, relatively unknown Bryan Adams opened. Amazing show!

Journey, Open Arms.

It’s fun you get to experience this for the first time! My 21 and 23 yr olds grew up on it because my husband and I listened to it! My daughter watched the tv show Glee, and they covered a lot of great 80’s music too. Journey has a huge catalog of hits!

I grew up with Journey and into the hair bands of the 80s. So many Journey songs - power ballads Open Arms, Faithfully. Hair Bands like Bon Jovi (Living on a Prayer); Poison a fun song “Unskinny Bop” and their power ballad Every Rose Has A Thorn.” I could write pages :) thank you for broadening your horizons and sharing.

For me, Journey with Steve Perry were always better live than in the studio. The "Escape" tour was simply great, check out more of it. Definitely "Mother, Father", "Open Arms", "Wheel in the sky"......Also live Tokyo "Lights/Stay awhile", "I'll be allright without you" "Girl can't help it" and many more. Steve was born to sing and perform and the band was so perfect back then. Neal on guitar is incredibly good but so are the others, they just harmonized so well together, it's a shame it broke up. But I also liked Randy Jackson in the later line-up and he fit in perfectly with the band and did an excellent job. There is a good documentary on KZread called "Raised on Radio, 1986 tour" that is definitely worth watching.

Try 4 non blondes What's Up. Linda Perry has a very unique vocal style, and that song has 1.5 billion views. After her second album, Perry very seriously got into song writing. Pink, Gwen Stefani, etc. Linda is in the song writers hall of fame.

Lead guitarist Neal Schon dropped out of Aragon High School 🏫. Eric Clapton asked Schon to join him in Derek and the Dominoes. But, Schon already signed with Santana. Schon and Greg Rolie left Santana and founded Journey. Steve Perry joined in 1977 after bass guitarist Richard Michaels Haddad died in a car accident. RIP 🙏 Santana, Journey and I were born in San Francisco 🌉. This song. Written by Steve Perry, Jonathan Cain and Neal Schon. This is the signature song of Journey. Cain was in The Babys 👶. That band broke up. Greg Rolie retired. Thus, Cain was hired by Journey. But, Journey broke up in 1987. Bad English formed. It released its first but in 1989, 35 years ago. The Storm released its first album in 1991. Both band broke up 💔. Journey reunited. Steve Perry quit again..Arnel Pineda is the current lead singer. Journey, Separate Ways.

What is the really about?

They are a rock band. But not what you call a 'Hard-Rock' band. They are more melodic and rhythmic than many of the rock bands during their prime. And they are still performing. But lead singer Steve Perry no longer tours with them. However, they lucked out on a pretty good replacement for him.

They are a great band..they now have an Arnel Pineda as lead singer. He's great but not Steve Perry. Steve's voice. ❤❤❤ Listen to their other top 10 songs. . . Faithfully and Lights..Steve is the 'Voice'.

I think you "like" this sing. After all you used the word like about 20 times.
