@@danielliljeqvist4635 Arnel Pineda is not a new vocalist, he is the frontman for Journey for more than 15 years now( from 2007-2023 and counting) In fact he's the longest tenure for Journey ever, even longer than SP..

Arnel brings energy that is vibrant

Dean's happy face tells everything.

And Dean is a great vocalist in his own right and a great drummer

my favorite song of the Journey song, and damn this asian guy is good.

Their sound guy is amazing this is mixed so well you can hear everything! I swear almost every sound guy thinks loud is good if they can’t hear something they turn it up rather then turn other things down.

He's singing his butt off! Neal's on fire 🔥 as usual. Journey rocks 🎸 ✨!

It really is insane how close he sounds to Steve...I watched the '81 live performance with Steve, then Jumped to this out of curiosity...Arnel really hits it out of the park with the same energy and range, just blows my mind. I'm really glad Journey is still around, bands lose their lead vocalists for whatever reason and just call it quits or just don't recover...for Better or worse Journey still rocks.

Not bashing him, every true Journey fan knows that Steve Perry is and always will be their best vocalist. He has good pipes but no one can match the voice.

Remarkable to see an eight piece band performing those songs. I saw the 5 piece powerhouse lineup with Valory-Dunbar-Schon-Rolie-Perry back in the day and they sounded big, loud and expressive.

Amel is no bullshit. Journey rules, good songs never die, and the wheel in the sky keeps on turnin'.

Arnel has been the vocalist of Journey for 15 years. Longer than any other vocalist in the long history of this amazing band! Is he Steve Perry? No. Is Arnel Pineda a great vocalist? Hell yes!!

Glad to see Neal decided to bring back Dean. He's a great drummer and I really think he could take over the vocals if needed 👍 🥁🎤

Steve Perry is the original voice on these songs, and co-wrote them. Everybody knows that and nothing can change that. Despite those facts, many fans appreciate the talent and dedication of Arnel Pineda and many even prefer his very powerful and masculine rock voice over Steve Perry’s. That says a lot. In MY opinion, the fact that Steve Perry was the original voice on these songs and co-wrote them are the lines that set him and Arnel apart. Other than that, they are equally amazing vocalists in their own ways.

I have a few songs where I pretty much prefer Steve, but as far as Arnel's energy, I enjoyed that when I went to see them. He really loves being there and makes it fun.

My hopes are that Johnathan, Neal, Deen all stay the course and make it to Spokane intact for the April 2023 concert I bought tickets for in the 6th row. Paid and arm and a leg for it but to see Deen Castronovo play drums and Neal on guitar and Johnathan play the Ivory would be a dream concert since last i saw them was 1980 in Seattle for Escape tour. Marco on bass would be the cherry on top.

Both Jon and Neal have said the tour is on despite legal drama. Jon said it to a reporter in an airport in a video you can find on KZread. And Neal tweeted that the tour is still happening. There’s no reason to think that Deen wouldn’t be on the tour

I really don’t get why after 15+ years people STILL hate on Arnel. Steve isn’t coming back, Arnel has more than taken over and proven himself. What’s next you hate Adam so you want Queen to resurrect Freddie?

I get fans wanting Perry back… just like DeYoung with Styx but those guys don’t want to be in those bands anymore, or there’s too much bad blood or whatever. Having a singer who puts on a good show like this lets people enjoy the band longer.

Haven't watched Journey live for many years and didn't realise they had a different frontman. That Arnel fella seems to fit the bill very nicely. What a voice. Only criticism is them having two live drummers. Seems pointless and adds nothing to the sound.

Kinda like Foreigner, original guitarist with different members. At least Neal Schon still appears.

So, not saying Arnel sounds better than Steve, but I do like the arrangement better than the original.

Great live act but without Steve Perry's voice they would never have achieved the sucess they did.Nice to see Marco Mendoza filling in for Ross Valory on bass though.

Journey existed before Steve, there can be one and as been one without him plus. It was his decision to leave the band, he has no vocal range like he did 40 years ago. They’re still Journey with the members they’ve got now. If that legacy sound is still there, your argument about it not being Journey is Wrong.

Awful vidéo work….. Where are Narada and the second Keyboard player? 3 closes shots of Cain? Botox Schon is a great player but a bad band leader.

They had to drop the song down a few notes because Arnel's voice is done. He was absolutely horrible this year and even back in this 2021 video, they recognized he had problems with the high notes. Time for a new singer.

They didn’t drop it because of his supposed horrible voice. They were just getting back on the road and lowering it an octave made it easier and yes he didn’t sound the best. His voice wasn’t the problem. It was a sound issue with the mixes, the old sound man kept pushing the mixes telling Arnel turn up the ear monitors and for 12 years he was struggling to hear himself. I’m more or less a background vocalist but there are times when I can’t hear myself and I record myself to see how I sound it sounds awful if I’m incapable of hearing myself in that makes sense. He might be 55 but even then, he wasn’t as bad in this video compared to Jon Bon Jovi’s voice as of recent. There are videos of Arnel’s singing and if you go back toward April 4th-April 2nd was when they changed their sound man, they’re also back in standard tuning. Also they’ve had it at a lower octave for years before they went standard again so that’s nothing new.

What's with the hate . If he wasn't good , he would have been replaced long time ago . But the real expert ... the band .. still rocking with Arnel for 15 years and counting .. arnel has the legacy sound . Besides that , Arnel's voice is dynamic . He can sing any song and make it his own .

Steve who? Steve where? Who's Steve???? Seriously... Steve hasn't been relevant with Journey since the 80s and the last time he sang in 91 with the band it was clear his vocals were far from where they were. Today, Steve's voice would not hold a candle to Arnel's. I won't lie, Steve's voice at his prime was unrivaled and will never be replaced even with Steve singing it today. IMHO, it's better that way because I'd hate to see Steve trying to relive his Journey days and struggling to sing the way he used to. That said, last time I checked the name of the band, it is Journey and not Steve. I'm just happy that nearly 50 years since their first album came out, we are still able to see/hear Journey live and performing the music that I grew up with. If you love journey, respect Steve but give Arnel his due.
