Well I haven’t seen Josstice League yet. But here’s my review of Zack Synder’s Justice League. The best review that I can give after just watching Zack Synder’s Justice League, once. Is that it is his best work of the three films that he has made for the DCEU. I was incredibly surprised that Ezra Miller actually made me laugh and smile far more than I expected. Every time I saw him in trailers for Joss Whedon’s Justice League. He just annoyed the hell out of me. I absolutely love how Zack Synder utilized Jason Momoa as Aquaman. He actually made me wanna give watching Aquaman a try. Even though it has a different director. It was nice to see Ben Affleck looking good and in shape. In the final epilogue scene with Martian Manhunter. Would have been great to see J’on Jonzz in combat. But it was really nice to see him behaving like he was back in Bruce Timm Justice League Universe. Which I still love to this day. Justice League: Unlimited baby! Gal Gadot was outstanding as Wonder Woman. Cyborg got the screen time that he deserved. Still not a fan of Sadistic Superman, brought to us by Zack Synder. It began with Man of Steel when he was smiling wickedly as Zod’s super-senses was giving him immense pain. Then in Zack Synder’s Justice League. The way he was about to kill The Flash & The Batman was really hard to watch. And how he kept pummeling Steppenwolf, with a smile on his face; without ever asking him to surrender or yield. Was incredibly disturbing. I can understand someone getting sadistic against a person or organization that hurt them or their loved ones. But Superman has no history with Steppenwolf. So it’s clear that this Superman just gets sadistic for sadistic sake. And that’s disgusting. Along with the way Superman aided Aquaman and Wonder Woman in murdering Steppenwolf. Aren’t superheroes suppose to behave a whole lot better than their supervillain’s? Isn’t that the point of being a superhero?

I read it, and he fucks up in the very first seconds, because he opens up with Steve Trevor and other dudes, rather than Diana and the Amazons. I don't even need to explain how that's a showing of his understanding of like, anything.

This 40-minute video had better storytelling than the entire Josstice League movie

After seeing the Snyder Cut, I can say that it is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT movie than Joss' version. In Snyder's cut, the 4 hours feels needed to get a bigger part of story and character. Not to mention we got to see plenty of Darkseid and more of Batman's Knightmare future.

Just saw Zack Snyder’s Justice League and all I can say is ; Zack deserved so much better but the world keeps throwing this man curveballs when he doesn’t deserve it and even then comes back on top

Why was this not recommended 3 months ago?? This is hands-down the most comprehensive video on Josstice League I’ve yet seen and it pretty much nails every point that I would make if I made a similar video. Thanks so much for this, it’s tremendous. More people need to see this. I’ve been a member of the movement at least as long as you and this is so satisfying to see. Great work.

To any detractors, please do yourselves a favour and watch the entire video before you decide to leave a lovely comment. For the record, I'm not a comic book fan, nor a superhero fan. I'm a film buff. I don't care if Whedon or Snyder's takes on the characters are “comic accurate” or not; I just want to see modern superhero movies that are actually trying to do something interesting and ambitious with this tired genre.

@@meili9711 That's fair. I wrote the script for this in a hurry and I think I was generalizing. For some reason there's just a lot of examples in my head where I associate orange with something unpleasant, which I agree isn't entirely fair of me. Sometimes I actually find it quite a refreshing color, especially during sunrise/set, or when it's associated with the fruit itself or orange juice.

Idk why this was just recommended to me now 3 months later but after watching the Snyder Cut, you literally nailed and pointed out everything that Josstice League missed and the Snyder Cut had.

Bravo man. You nailed every single point. You know, this movie was supposed to be my movie. And by that, I mean my favorite movie of all time. I was so fucking excited to see this movie. It was my Avengers Infinity war hype type movie. I bought merch, my birthday theme (I'm 24, still a child when it comes to comic book movies) was Justice League (few weeks before release). Going into the theater, I was almost crying tears of joy of what I'm about to witness. And I'm that type of person that If a movie is entertaining, I like it. If it made me laugh, scared, pumped, feel emotional, etc., it's a good movie for me. Hell, I even liked Green Lantern believe it or not. But when the movie ended, I just sat there for a minute, and literally said "that's it?", "wait, what?!". And left the theater feeling empty handed, heartbroken, and just sad. One of my favorite movies of all time are Man of Steel, BvS, and WW. So I had high hopes for this movie. But damn, it destroyed me. I watch comic book movies (both marvel and dc) many times after watching it in the theater. I just love them all. But this one, I only watched it once in the theater. Then a few months later I found out (among everyone else) about what truly happened to the movie and to Zack Snyder, and it made me understand why it was so bad (basically everything you said in the video). So it did made me feel a lot better, knowing that it wasn't ruined because it was just a bad movie made by Zack Snyder, but a bad movie because 75% of ZS's movie was cut and re-made in Whedon's mind. But hey, we are getting the Zack Snyder cut next week. And guess what? I'm freaking out about it, in the best possible way. It's like I was back in 2017, a week before Justice League release. Except I already know this is going to be 100% better.

The final battle in 2017 version described Superman as a one punch man. Fortunately Snyder Cut made it completely reasonable. I feel grateful I'm able to witness the whole thing happened and the ultimate edition released.

The skimpier Amazon costumes being Snyder's was a head scratcher for me. But after watching his cut he basically just went back to 300 but with all females. Every shot of the Amazons that frame their costume/body is showing how jacked and strong they are. Completely get what the actresses were talking about in that post you show and agree with their defenses of the choice.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again; I don’t care if the Snyder Cut sucks, that’s the canon Justice League movie for me. It might be great, it might be awful, but it’s the real deal. That’s what the creator they hired wanted to do. If it’s not what they wanted, they should’ve done a better job at getting the right director. It’s the same as when an actor sucks in a film, it’s not their fault, it’s the fault of the person who saw, picked and approved them for the part.

I've just recently subscribed to HBO Max. My sole purpose for that is to watch Zack Snyder's Justice League as it should have been. Regardless of the quality, I am confident that it will satisfy more than Josstice League.

While I definitely think the Amazonian armor in Wonder Woman is preferable to that we saw in Josstice League and will see again in the Snyder Cut, your observations at the 25 minute mark about how Snyder is emphasizing their physical power, not their sex appeal, actually make sense.

They also even deleted a lot of both *extended shots and scenes from JOSS WHEDON'S 2017 2-hour reshoots!!* Lol not to mention zack's 4-hour snyder cut. 😂

38:51 that is a little subjective. I mean, I think he conveys scenes and stories well and people just fail to understand him. Looking at it, it's the opposite of a classroom scenario. The students are criticizing the teacher here and not the other way around.

Actually it has been, once. Disney essentially rebooted it when they took over, branding all the EU works as non-canon (still canon for me though) and changing a lot of the events of the EU like the theft of the Death Star plans which in the EU was done by imperial traitor and future Jedi Master, Kyle Katarn, as well as the formation of he rebel alliance which was formed by Galen Marek (Starkiller) in the EU but is different in Disney canon, this is among just a few of the most obvious examples of the Disney reboots. KOTOR and SWTOR never happened in the Disney canon either, and neither did the Dark Empire and EU Vader comics, etc.

I’m pretty sure Arthur was just asking Mera for a set of armour and his mother’s trident in that scene, I mean she had literally just told him it was his responsibility to follow Steppenwolf to the surface so it makes sense and the next time we see him he’s wearing armour and wielding Queen Atlanna’s trident.

Wait, don't you know that there was a romance between Diana and Bruce in most media's featuring the Justice League?

Victor: "for them to see the monster." Silas: "you are not a monster." Victor: "It's weird that you thought I meant me." They may have cocked up the movie back in 2017 but lines like this helped me tolerate it back them and continue to help me tolerate it now. Another thing as well, although like the guy said that MOS Superman doesn't suit his original theme you've got to admit that you at least got some goosebumps when it played and stepped down instead of up like it originally does. These two things are probably the only things I like about Josstice League. The rest is complete and utter garbage. Ok Bye.

All the reshoots Whedon did for this movie was pure trash, the actors are totally embarassed, especially Ben Affleck and Ray Fisher, they doesn't want to be there at all, Whedon turn Justice League into a bad parody of the Avengers. I'm so glad that the Snyder Cut has been released and now we have A JUSTICE LEAGUE movie, I'm gonna pretend that Josstice League never happened.

None of the actors wanted to be there. It shows in their faces, especially Diane Lane and Amy Adams. I think the press release where WB said Snyder picked Joss Whedon to finish the film was made to appease the cast so they would come back for reshoots.

Josstice is a fascinating trainwreck for me. One take I've seen that's stuck with me is that Josstice is a more stereotypical Marvel movie than any actual Marvel movie. I was admittedly on the fence about the Release the Snyder Cut movement, but by God, I'm so happy it succeeded. ETA: Also, this little statement from an anonymous WB exec from that February Vanity Fair interview just gives me life: "When we got to see what Joss actually did, it was stupefying. The robber on the rooftop - so goofy and awful. The Russian family - so useless and pointless. Everyone knew it. It was so awkward because nobody wanted to admit what a piece of shit it was."

You want to know what the weird part is? When Josstice League came out, most of Snyder’s critics actually LIKED this movie because it felt more like a Marvel movie (at least the ones that came out that year). I guess it wasn’t until both Infinity War and Endgame both came out, since both movies took risks especially with their endings, that’s when the same people who criticized Snyder’s DC movies looked back on this movie and realized it hasn’t aged well at all. It just looks like the Diet Coke of Marvel movies, only focusing on plot points and that’s it. No emotional journey with the characters throughout the film whatsoever, which is something that these Marvel movies at least attempted to execute in between the spectacle.

In my opinion everyone who hates Snyder movies were only Marvel fans because those movies had the potential to overwin the MCU. I haven't seen a single DC fan hating on the Snyderverse.

I’m rewatching Josstice League before ZS’JL Also, Geoff Johns should stick to writing, he’s much better at that (imo) So, basically, the Justice League was destroyed by the Injustice Gang?

I have heard a sample of Tom Holkenborg's score and it sounds epic. Danny Elfman's score could only be summed up with one word, forgettable.

I just watched the Snyder cut, and all I can say is, the studio could not have done Snyder more wrong. The film is in itself the greatest piece of visionary for the superhero genre I have ever seen. Why the studio hated it then, I will never understand. Thank you for calling out it’s hypocrisy

Thanks for the video, I have a few notes: - Regarding the director credits, WB didn't have a choice because of the DGA (Director's Guild of America). DGA rules state that the Director who gets the credit is the one who shot at least 50% of principal photography. In this case, Snyder shot 100% since he left during post production, which exposed WB's lie that Snyder didn't finish shooting. - For the mustache, Mission Impossible Fallout Director Christopher McQuarrie was okay with Warner's offer, but Paramount overruled him.

Thanks for this review revisiting it i see what people were thinking about the snyder cut before it came out, and WHEN it came out! and became (for me) one of the most beatiful superhero movies ever! imagine if we had that bak in 2017!

I think this is a really well made, comprehensive video that does a great job of understandably breaking down the situation surrounding this movie! I’m so happy that I genuinely loved his JL, it was genuinely so much better, but I’m even happier for Snyder himself that he got it released at all! I DO think throwing Rian Johnson under the bus at the last second was a little unnecessary because not liking TLJ is a matter of opinion (granted, that review he responded to was super harsh), but I do agree handling things that way aren’t really the beat way to go about things. I love how Snyder hasn’t had ANYTHING but glowing praise from people who’ve worked with him, even if not everyone like his ideas and agrees with some of the things he’s said. I’m still excited for non-Snyder DC films like The Flash, Black Adam, Aquaman 2, and Shazam 2 (I also loved Birds of Prey, Wonder Woman, Shazam, and THE Suicide Squad), but I wish the best for him, his family, his friends, and everyone who worked on this movie, and hope we get to see more from his DC universe someday!
