Joshua Tree National Park is a large national park in southern California, in the Mojave Desert. It is characterized by barren desert landscapes and rugged rock formations. The Joshua Tree National Park got its name from the Joshua Trees, which are typical in this region. The Joshua Trees are bizarrely shaped Joshua palm lilies, a type of yucca palm.
Joshua Tree National Park is where the higher Mojave Desert and the cactus-covered Colorado Desert meet.
For many, the park, which covers more than 3,000 square kilometers and consists only of desert landscape, affects them like a life-less place. However, upon closer inspection, you quickly realize that there is unique flora and fauna here.
In 1936 Joshua Tree was declared a National Monument, then in 1996 the park was declared a National Park.

From there, we'll continue our journey through the park to the Keys View overlook, where you'll get a great view of the Coachella Valley.
