Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho
During the Chicago Movement for Freedom (ca. 1965-1967), Mahalia Jackson joined her friend Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., when he was preaching a sermon about justice and equality at Church. Jackson, who is known as the "Queen of Gospel Music", sang the spiritual "Joshua Fit / Fought the Battle of Jericho".

Look closely at Martin’s face. Almost instantly when he heard Mahalia’s voice, he started smiling. That’s the affect&conviction that her voice had&still to this very day how ironic in so many decades after her passing. King Was When he Recognized Her Voice before She came on stage, she had no mic & sang her heart out & lefted everyone's spirits. This the best thing I think I have ever seen. So much joy in that room, and such a hard battle they were fighting. I feel unworthy even watching this. The absolute joy on her face after she starts singing and could see Dr King smiling….her heart was just filled with the power of God.
