Oh the nostalgia! This movie looked SO COOL to me when I was a kid. And I still feel it now at 18 years old.

0:10 in the 2020s the rotating chair seems so silly yet in 2005 when i saw this in the theater, it seemed so badass. having 3 to 5 screens wasnt normal back then though

It's a cool looking movie especialy if you are a kid growing in the countryside like I was. I remember being absolutely fascinated by the talons and especialy fascinated by the robot. And of course, had a huge crush on Ben.😊 Such good times.... 😌

EDIT: I updated the numbers. Initially used 2700 knots. I misheard. It's 2070 knots. Also, 45 degree angle is a guestimate judging from his pull out, and I counted about 5 seconds to complete the turn. To calculate g-forces you need acceleration, and to calculate acceleration you need the bank angle, (which has horizontal and vertical forces), and time. So I did this calculation at 2070 knots during a 45 degree turn (bank), over a 5 second period. Spolier alert: End result doesn't change. lol. My original comment: For the record , this is absolutely not doable outside of movie magic. I sat down with a calculator and did some calculations. 2070 knots is the equivalent is Mach 3.10. Which means he's traveling at 1054.899m/s, which is fine for a straight line acceleration to reach that speed. The problem with g-forces would be the turn out of it at that speed. He made a 45 degree turn, meaning, he made a 90 to go straight, and then he inclinded the plane to gain altitude and barely cleared the building he was headed for. That's was about a 45 degree angle. To figure out the g-forces during a turn, there are two measurements, horizontal [cos(45)] and vertical [sin(45)]. In the turn he's facing 747.15m/s(2) horizontal force of acceleration, and vertically, he's facing 747.15m/s(2) force of acceleration. So in total, he's facing a total of 1056.96m/s (2) force of accelration. When we convert that to g-forces, he's chesting 107.96 g-forces. In other words, he's dead. He's very dead. The human body can only withstand about 15-20 g before it dies, and even the most experienced and trained pilots can only take about 11g before they hit G-LOC and pass out. He'd have passed out during the acceleration straight down given the few seconds, (acceleratkkon over time), and he wouldn't have been concious at all. Even if by some miracle he was able to stay conscious, the turn would have killed him, and it would not be a pretty death. His blood vessels would burst , his lungs would collapse, his heart would fail, and his bones would break. The only good thing would be that he'd be unconsious long before it happened. By the way, the plane wouldn't survive that either.

@@vishadsharmamit Thanks! I'm no genius though. Not really. I put in 2700 instead of 2070. I updated the numbers, but the end result is the same. I think the genius is the one who created the formulas. All I did was put in the numbers and let the calculator do what it's supposed to. Now if I did this with an abacus... THAT would make me a genius lol
