No it's pretty damn sad, man. My biggest hero as a kid, and he fell so far after coming back from so much. One of the most heartbreaking baseball stories for me personally. Up there with José.

This is a guy who would have easily (and I do mean easily) been in the conversation as one of the best to ever play the game. The two most effortless power swings in the history of baseball belonged to Ken Griffey, Jr. and Josh Hamilton and I'd make the argument that Hamilton's swing was actually a hair better as far as timing because almost every ball he hit was at the whip of the swing when the batspeed was at its maximum. He wasn't the biggest, he wasn't the strongest, but man could he swing a baseball bat. Just an amazing all around player.

@@mattsmith3835 I wouldnt go as far as saying he was huge. Frank Thomas was huge. Ryan Howard was huge. Adam Dunn was huge. There's no denying he was strong but he definitely wasn't the biggest or the strongest.

Josh’s backstory in baseball is much more insane than most know. Had he stayed away from the drugs and healthy he easily would’ve been in the top 10 hitters who ever lived. The things he was doing in high school as a lefty were insane. A huge waste.
