Joseph and Jesus were both traded in for silver (the love of money) one by judah and one by judas, Funny how their names are almost similar, but anyways they showed the blood of “Joseph” on the turmeric to show his father so they “prove” his death, the Blood of Jesus brings life, I also dont find it to be a coincidence that in total there were 12 sons and 12 disciples.

This was such a great teaching of Gods word. Thank you for pointing the scripture to Jesus. What really ministered to my heart is that everything we go through good or bad God has a plan for his glory . His plan if not to harm us but to prosper us. Joseph was harmed by his brothers, he went through trials.. God was with him and he did prosper him. We learn in James to count it joy in trials and tribulations.

"You can calculate the time it took the pleas to get to his brothers ears but it took 22 years to get to their hearts" (paraphrase). What a great statement and something we should all remember when we are working for/with our loved ones we want to see come to Christ. It may take seconds to share the truth but years, or even decades, for it to sink in. How many times do we lose heart because we don't see responses right away when it make take years, along with many others, to get the truth into the hearts of those loved ones? I am sure many have lost/walked away from their faith because they did not wait to see what happens What a great lesson for us all to remember about waiting on Him because His time and ways are not the same as ours.

Not seeing the responses right away is part of our spiritual conditioning. At what point will you realize you aren't being sent to those of unfamiliar speech whose words you don't understand? If you were sent to those, they would listen to you! Perhaps you are sent to the rebellious to have your strength tested. God left the neighboring nations round about Israel of Judges 3 for two reasons. #1 to bring war to the generations without the experience of it Imagine that! Why would God bring about orphans and widows on purpose?? This is for our spiritual admonition. #2 to prove Israel by them whether they would obey the commands of God. This isn't for God to "see what they would do" but for them to see what they would do. This also is for our spiritual admonition today. The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done, it is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Howbeit, that is not first which is spiritual but that which is natural; and afterwards, that which is spiritual. (See Ecc1:9 & 1Cor15:46) Grace & Peace

I would like to point out a couple of things i noticed. God allows for trials to happen in our lives in order for us to grow. Joseph needed to mature, which is clearly evident due to his youth. He received training in management of a large estate. These skills would be crucial in managing a whole country. Once these skills were learned, God sent him to prison. There, he learned how to manage criminals. This would be crucial when running a whole country because he is surrounded by politicians. If you can manage criminals in prison then you can manage criminals in the political sphere. Difficulties and trials in our lives prepare us for the upcoming future events that we cannot foresee. We simply have to trust Our Father in heaven

Joseph was tested like Jesus in Matthew 4vs 4..when potiphas wife wanted to lie with him. He defeated the devil for his family's. Saved them from famine. Jesus saved us from the devil and saved us by his grace. Indeed Joseph 8s a chosen one from the genealogy of Abraham. Thank you man of God for such a great preaching

Thank you David. I always wondered about that part about Joseph's mother also bowing down to him. Now I know that the story was not written in chronological correct order. I just thought about something, Joseph's dream had eleven stars bowing down to him. If his mother was still alive at the time of the dream, then she would not have given birth to Benjamin yet. That would only be ten brothers at the time of the dream. Then the dream would also be prophetic of one more brother not yet born.

Wasn't Joseph a teenager at the time? As a mother of 6 grown children I can't say that Tact is in great supply in the teen years. Shalom pastor.

Im so happy to have found this study! I think however, that Joseph was still a naive child and was bot able to discern his brothers hatred of him. I believe him to be just a child genuinely telling his family of his dream without thinking any ill of it.

Pastor David, thank you. Was Reuben possibly not very selfish and self seeking, rather than 'heroic' as you say? Was he not trying to save Joseph to 'replace' him in his father's love by showing what a great man he, (Reuben) was? Wasn't he just trying to make himself into the 'good' guy? Were his actions not based on himself and his goals not from any care of Joseph?? He was not a good man previously, so did he suddenly change in character? Just a thought. With more than a bit of Jacob in me (and the worse bits!) I think he was more likely to be doing everything for his own agenda and his own good, conniving and deceiving like his father??? I'm NOT criticising, just putting a possibly different perspective. Thank you for all your great teaching.

WAYS THAT POINT TO JESUS-VERSE 18 WHEN JOSEPH BROTHERS PLOTTED HIS MURDER BECAUSE OF ENVY & STRIFE IS THE SAME WITH JESUS & THE SCRIBES & PHARASIES LEADING TO HIS CRUCIFIXION THAT SAVED THE WORLD WHEREAS JOSEPH ESCAPED BEING KILLED SAVED NATIONS IN FAMINE. BLESS GOD'S WORD HALLELUJAH.

My thoughts on the fact of Joseph telling his dreams ….. if he had not told these dreams, how would we know about them when the dreams came true? So maybe he told in his young ignorance of trying to be accepted

There’s many Gods. Many much older than the crazy God of Abraham. If your God isn’t Mother Nature and your own spiritual being, study others Gods that are more believable and kind. King James verse of this historical mythology is awful.
