He's likely seen people die from short falls... If you're in the field, land wrong and shatter your tibia and fibula (the two bones in your lower leg), you can easily die from infection and/or exposure (and that's beside the risk of a military situation and being behind enemy lines).

mr DelusionZ his parachute malfunctioned and tore mid-fall - at about 16,000 feet. Grylls spiralled to the southern African sand and broke his back in three different places, spending the next year and a half in an out-of-military rehab...so the man knows a little bit about falling 😂

This show isn't about bear grylls, it's about the guest. Bear takes them out of their comfort zone and exposes them to challenges in nature that may occur. It is staged, but it still is very helpful to those who want to know what to do in a survival situation.

@@XFinityDesigns Ahhh, you're not wrong (Unless of course those people are trained as well, and therefore wouldn't be making decisions based on this show in the first place). But something valuable that regular people will get from the show is the idea to think outside of their comfort zones. "Hey, there is a rotting corpse... I haven't eaten in 5 days, I could probably eat that tongue. Oh... why is there a rotting corpse here in the first place?" It's not completely devoid of helpful info.

I like how Joseph feels super authentic right now. Like no acting. Other actors in this sitch, would either be %100 up for anything Grylls does just for the cameras or they exaggerate their fear and act dramatic. Joseph is just like, "nah ur gonna tell what's gonna happen or I'm not doing it" (extremely frightened of heights) 3 minutes later, "that was amazing, I would love to do that again"
