This speech aged like a fine wine. I always think Mourinho is the one for MU, if the management have trust in him. But they chose Pogba over Mourinho, and we all know who is the correct one now. Exactly. But he built that in Real Madrid. He did it and nobody else. Last time they played a semi final, before he arrived, was 2002-03, he arrived in 2010-11. Heritage is what caused that Real Madrid side to win 3 titles in a row. I still do not understand how is it that big clubs are not supporting this man. In my opinion only Klopp has quality like Mourinho. Guardiola for me is nowhere neat their level, he is just a manager that is backed but big clubs for some reason, with no justification., in my opinion.

Even when they had a crisis after 2003 and became second best to Barca coming in as second best was never considered a success. Players and managers were put aside mercilessly when they didn't perform at top level. Even when Mourinho took them to the CL semi finals the club and supporters were not satisfied and he had to go.

Boy was he right on money!!! I want to apologize to Jose on my own behalf. He was the man who told us what is wrong with our club

What he means translates in english to "inheritance". It's what each manager "inherits" as they start a job for the club. So it's "football inheritance", which is a common term in portuguese football (herança futebolística).

I remember he was lambasted and mocked for this press conference at the time. And yet, as the seasons go by, Jose becomes more vindicated and this speech more prophetic.

There are two major observations you can make- 1) Mourinho always got criticised in England when he wasn't immediately winning things, despite everything that he had achieved, in Utd I remember he was the one who won them a European trophy after many years, sacked still! Sacked after 6 months post winning premier League with Chelsea in 2015.. Wenger should've been sacked like millions of times by the same logic! It doesn't apply to other managers.. 2) the respect he gets in Roma is indicative of their achievements! Both Inter and Roma had shown immense respect to him and he did immense things with them! With Roma, which isn't a good team at all, he took them to 2 European finals in 2 years! The man is a legend !

Basically he is saying Man United didnt make the right decisions in the past years in terms of the investing in the right players and somehow he is expected to turn around things in 2 days, its a long process which requires pateince, long term careful investment and cooperation and trust between owners and fans with the manager.
