I can't understand why people are so offended by the beautiful Bat Flip!
Jose was loyal and brought excitement to this franchise and to baseball. When people complain about the bat flip I'm like are u kidding? He hit the second biggest homer of the franchise which he built from the ground up. When there used to be only several thousand people in the stands with a non-playoff jays team, he didn't get noise and recognition worldwide, but when he hit his loudest homer of his career with 40,000 people watching in the most epic 7th inning of the alcs deciding game, he flipped the bat instinctively as if to say, "Y'all didn't know? I'm motherfucking JOSE BAUTISTA and thats WHAT I DO." Much love from Toronto Jose, you'll always be a legend here.

A true legend. 100% deserving of the level of excellence. My favourite blue jay player of the 21st century. Thanks for the memories Joey Bats!
Thanks for the moments Jose! A true baseball legend
He was the dude who got me into baseball. Man, wish he was back with the jays.
Probably the greatest Jay ever. Not many players ever came to Toronto and bought in like Jose did. Get him up on that Ring of Honour ASAP.

Uhh. Joey Bats was incredible but did we forget about the teams that won 2 World Series? Molitor, Olerud, Alomar, Carter, Gruber those teams were stacked

@@Outta-hz1ej what does your comment have to do with mine? Read CAREFULLY, greatest Jay ever, not greatest team ever. The 90's team was stacked but Jose was doing it without much help for most his career. No player was more polarizing than Jose. The players in the 90s for the most part just passed through Toronto, but they built a team around Jose.

Why does it seem like Buck Martinez's voice makes those moments so much more epic?
The 2015 bat flip is the most iconic moment of his career.

arguably alomar's homer off eckersley in 1992 was more important. we were losing real bad that game and then alomar and others help us steal a win off the As. then we got another win in game 6 and went to the WS.
Me as a Blue Jay fan that first big year "Don't throw him inside cuz he'll kill your pitchers" Every team in baseball "Let's try to crowd him inside with a fastball" Result 54 home runs
Everyone knows the batflip hr was one of the most epic bombs in jays history but that 2 HR game in another do or die in the ALCS vs KC was unbelievable. When you actually look, Jose accounted for 4 of the 6 runs in the game 5 vs Texas in the ALDS and then another do or die game the next round he accounted for every run the Jays scored that night. If only someone else contributed that game, Jays would have moved on to game 7. That ump still pisses me off in the top of the 9th with some very bad strike calls to kill them, while Jose the man of the night, who was locked in more than ever, was stranded in the batters box due up next.
8:19 the best bat flip of all time.

oh 100%. That batflip started a movement in baseball whether fans or other players admit it or not. Players started flipping bats and celebrating big moment HRs more than ever after that stemming the whole MLB logo "let the kids play" trying to make baseball fun again. There's a reason that batflip is referred to as the batflip heard around the world. And every big moment HR and celebration, batflip whatever is always compared to that one, its the benchmark.
Miss him so much on the Jays
Happy birthday to the legend! My favourite player all time I wish you were still a bluejay man such great memories so many legendary moments you gave us. Much love my man.
We shoulda won the title back in 2015. We had such good starting pitchers and Osuna, as well as a very, very solid and stacked lineup.
As a jays superfan i was at the jose bautista alds game i lost my mind my fav call ever is BAUTISTA WITH A DRIVE DEEP LEFT FLEID NO DOUBT ABOUT IT ITS GONE
Thank you MLB
Jose bautista is perhaps one of the best blue jays in franchise history. He is the man and a legend. I think the blue jays should retire his jersey number 19. He epitomized ounce a blue jay always a blue jay means . My favorite jose bautista moment is the amazing bat flip against the Texas Rangers. Wow what a badass.

For 4 or 5 years he was a monster ...one of the top players o baseball at the plate amd a top player in right field..sad thing is he will be forgotten by alot of ppl

The Blue Jays with their 2010 BlackUniform and Jose Bautista is the reason why I discovered the game of Baseball when I accidentally change the channel and its the Blue Jays and Jose Bautista with the At bat and he hits a homer! JOSE BAUTISTA IS MY HERO IN BASEBALL!
Thanks Jose
I still remember having Joey Bats breakout 54 homer season on my first fantasy team. I saw he had 3 homers in the first week and picked him up after that. Probably the first guy in ESPN to pick him up.
@Gameflyer001

I was playing Yahoo fantasy baseball that season and I had noticed Bautista notched 10 HR by that point in the season, yet no one took him. My friend told me to take him, or else he would; I was resisting it initially as I wanted a 1B like James Loney (lol). In the end I picked him up, and he hit me another 44 HR and got me the lead in that category (I finished 3rd place overall with my friend right behind me).
@Gameflyer001

@@Flexb123 yes, I'm aware of the 10 HR September he had that season in 2009. It was however under new hitting coach Dwayne Murphy that he really focused on that swing and hit it big time in 2010-2011. The starting RF prior to Bautista moving there was Alex Rios.
We should retire the #19 and make THAT bat flip a statue in Toronto's city center. He's a Blue Jays legend and deserves the honour. He almost single handedly made Toronto and all of Canada baseball land. There's a really good video about his career on youtube by Stark Raving Sports. The first 4 years of his career he was literally the 27th worse player in baseball history and ended his career as arguably the best power hitter of the 2010's. Remarkable career. He's my all time favourite player
very educational.
He was SO good vs Kansas City but the team couldn't convert. David Price didn't help that either... People remember Texas but he was clutch the next series vs KC.

I agree. KC didn't beat Toronto in that series, Toronto ended up beating themselves.
@Flexb123

100%. most fans don't mention that game, Jose was so locked in and those 2 bombs were as clutch as they come. And I'm pretty sure Jose was on deck when JD grounded out to end that game. A real shame. But that 9th inning, don't tell me those umps weren't helping to dictate the jays fate. Those strike calls on Navarro and Revere were horrible. Runners on 2nd and 3rd, one hit would have had the lead for them. ugh. KC's offense was so red hot though, it felt like they were getting multiple hits most innings. And if we didn't have Dickie pitching game 4, and didn't blow game 2, when price choked with a 3-0 lead in the 7th I think it was, things would have been a lot different, just winning that 2nd game alone I think they would have taken the series, and no doubt they would've beat the mets.

Jose ! 🇨🇦💯
As a Toronto Blue Jays fan, "I miss you Jose, you were THE Blue Jay. Possibly the best one ever. When you left the Blue Jays weren't even the Blue Jays anymore. You had the bat flip, and I'm pretty sure that people in Northern Russia know what I'm talking about. Toronto misses you".
Forever goated in Toronto.
Jose is the main reason I still play the older MLB games
How changing your swing makes a difference...😮😮
El mejor por siempre🙏🙏⚾⚾💪💪
Thank you
Jose Bautista my fav player all the way
One of the Blue Jays greats. Imo, it’s down to Jose, Doc, Delgado, Carter and Alomar
Joey LOVED hitting at Target Field. He mashed the Twins every time he played there
I love u my boy
Miss him
I miss him. All those guys from 2015.
After doc has left blue jays i was so frustrated then Bautista has hit 54 homeruns and i have not missed any of it. I still have 54 homerun jose bautista bobblehead which they only gave 20,000 piece, in mint condition. Its been 10 years, but its my treasure from childhood.
not even a big baseball fan, but that is just the coldest pose and bat throw ever seen in the game
Wow, Sharp Aquos... Good Ol' times...
Bautista's exit velo is insane. I bet it's like 108 mph+.
He was really clutch in the playoffs... It's too bad the Jays only made it there with him twice, at the tail end of his career
Swing and a drive !!
That ALDS inning vs Texas is easily top 3 innings in their history. What an inning
1:55 was an absolute shot

That 2010 season. Sheesh.
If he played in the AL Central, he’s prob be a first ballot HOFer just based on his insane stats versus the Twins throughout his entire career
2:23 crushed
Not a jays fan but he and edwin deserve the level of excellence
He hit the second most important home run in blue jays history so yeah he’s pretty good
Never forget your history and never ignore your destiny.
My favorite moment was when he caught that deep ball, threw the runner out at home, and did the John Cena "you can't see me" gesture
When i heard the news today that my Braves signed Jose Bautista. I was fucking excited. Yes he is older. But i have always liked Jose and the power he has displayed. Just wicked. He also Followed me on twitter on his own choice. I respect that. I expect him to hit. But really who knows. All i know is Jose is a class act.and when he is on. Jesus christ. Thats all i can say. @@tbird4172 Yea i remember, they gave him like 35 ABs. And he barely had any spring training. A little too quick on that release but truth is, Bautista was coming down from his prime in 2016. Basically he became a 1-5 hitter but with great ability to draw walks still. But that power and contact really dropped off in 2017 and 2018 season. What kills me is I didn't start becoming a fan of him until 2014 so kind of missed his best years although 15 was still pretty good.
They missed his homer off of Shawn Kelly against the Yankees in 2014. One of his best home run celebrations
If we had won game 6 vs KC that performance would have been one for the ages.
I just realized that my brother is in the thumbnail lol
Man he loved to feast on Twins pitching over his career :)

I really wish the Jays would have had better management during their runs. At least you guys had all of the other parts.
