New album “Local Valley”, out Sept. 17. ► Stream / Pre-order album: josegonzalez.lnk.to/localvalley
I dunno what it is about his music. Just carries my soul off somewhere
Jose, the fact that there are people like you in this world, so talented, so humble, all while being so deservedly successful, is just a wonderful thing. I feel like the world today is saturated with so much bullshit, so much nonsense coming from media and the fast-paced, profit-driven culture we live in, that too many talented people like yourself never achieve the success they deserve. That you have somehow managed to be so gifted, so positive, and so driven to create beautiful things, and at the same time be so successful in pursuing what you love, is a sort of modern miracle. A real-Earth miracle, the kind achieved by people, by human beings of flesh and blood. As I think of the countless talented, passionate and deserving individuals, people who are artists, writers, scientists, musicians, leaders, and other creators and contributors who will never achieve success, I am grateful that you and others like you exist to remind us of the full extent of human potential. I'm looking forward to the new album. See you in New York in April!

I wish we, as a society, didn't let so many talented individuals slip through the cracks and not achieve what they're capable of. It seems to me like we have a system that is wildly inefficient when it comes to fulfilling human potential...
HIs songs often make me cry, but its not hopeless. These are the songs of someone who has suffered and learned.
G'day from Australia 🇦🇺, so iv found myself falling into a deep depressed state most days i don't think it's ever going to pass, a few weeks ago i heard this song for the first time it resonates with me so I'm going to listen to it every day st least once in my efforts to help myself 😶🌫️.. THANKS JOSE GONZALEZ.. i love your work all awesome and somewhat soothing, i sing along all the time im a bit of a mimic actually haha ..🇦🇺🙏 hoping to see you in Brisbane in February if im correct.. 👍
I owe you my life Sir. this song, your vibe. I hope to get tix to see you in Kansas City in September. I am very excited and humbled. thank you José and the Sunday Assembly! Thank you.
It's fairly obvious to me that he's a really smart guy (PHD in biochemistry) who's struggled a lot with existential crises. But he's found a way to turn that sense of despair on its head and really embrace the wonder of existence. It can be done - and when it's achieved you have a gift that very few people have. You can be in awe every day and never get bored. You can carry it with you everywhere you go and never need anything else.
You're like a highly gifted 1970's singer-songwriter José González... From my generation, you're a very special talent in these times.. Thank you!
José González, you are such a gift to this world!
This song helps me every time I feel I cannot continue with the every day routine. You bring me light, José < 3
This song has brought such happiness to me. As a free thinker, I have at many times felt alone. This song is a hug, and a reminder that it's okay to follow a path of logic and reason, even if you're alone on that path. How beautiful it is that we all exist. Some people go through life so wrapped up in petty unimportant things that they never even realize just how remarkable the odds were for us to exist in the first place. To me, the point of life is to find happiness, whatever that may be. We have the opportunity to enjoy life during our short time here. I will be checking out my local chapter of Sunday Assembly. Thank you, José.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that many of Jose's songs reflect on secular humanist ideas. Such a rare topic to find in such beautiful music.

Thank you for your comment softlysoaringmelody. I know people just occasionally post their true thoughts for fun and more for themselves than recongition after listening to a good song, but this really framed the song for me in my head. I was feeling the same but didn't have the words for it, but you did. Thank you. Thank you.
It was so much fun filmning this!! I LOVE the song!

It looked like it!
"Let the life lead you out Let the life lead you out x8 Why can't you take the leaf off your mouth? Now that you have the facts on your side Take a moment to reflect where you're from Let reason guide you, See old tracks take you out from the dark See old tracks lead you up to the stars Why can't you take the leaf off your mouth? Now that you have the facts on your side Take a moment to reflect where you're going Let reason guide you, See old tracks take you out from the dark See old tracks lead you up to the stars Let the life lead you out Let the life lead you out Let the…" (till forever)

Mr. Gonzáles has always struck me as such a kind, gracious, generous, utterly brilliant human being, and this video was yet another testament to his beautiful genius. His capacity for compassion truly knows no bounds, you can see, as he shines here, like a beacon of light-of hope-in a relative sea of darkness. Thank you for sharing your gift with the world, sir. Many, including me, would be lost without you.
First track I have ever listened to. Certainly this is something very special. This man deserves to be heard and credited! Appreciate your talent José González! Thank you!
it always breaks my heart every time I discover another wonderfully talented artist that isn't isn't getting enough publicity or airtime

i dont think jose would be who he is with too much publicity. i dont think its as easy to be famous as youd think. besides the fact you have to discover his music yourself makes it more enjoyable to listen too

Wonderful.. Absolutely brilliant! So organic..so José González!

At first, I watched this video thinking it was going to be funny or bizarre or something. I mean "Godless congregation" ... ? Fer crying out loud ... Now the Atheists want to normalize their deal, is that it? I will save this video to a playlist because I like to keep track of what the enemy is doing. It's interesting that the only thing left to Christians was the whole "milquetoast" thing, and now Atheists want to take that away from them. Being "edgy" apparently wasn't enough for these hipster dufuses, they needed to co-opt being earnest, and shit. I wonder how long before they tire of being folksy ... "Oh look! We can be just as clean-cut and family-oriented as any Christians! Let's take a middle-American style family portrait! This is what's cool today! Yay!"

Don't fucking tell me HOW TO FEEL!
Uplifting to the point I cried.
Te esperamos por aquí por Argentina para ir a verte para cuando puedas darte una vueltita, José querido. Tu música es hermosa!
This is the greatest thing to happen to me.
José's voice has this cult-like leader charismatic presence in my heart that I just want to believe in!
some of my biggest inspirations to writing music is Jose Gonzales, 2pac, jimi Hendrix, MGMT, and Nico Vega. I know you wont read this Mr. Gonzalez but you are a true artist who makes music with truth and meaning. Thanks alot for the beautiful music.
saw him in Malmo Sweden, summer 22.. amazing guy!
Just discovered him a few days ago. Fell in love immediately. I cried through Every Age the first few times I heard it.
I love this artist! He channels the sound of The Moody Blues more than ANY other artist. The Moody Blues is my fave band - and I believe this guy's music is equivalent in its greatness. When I first heard this song, I literally thought it was a new Moody Blues album cut. Enjoy, classic rock fans...
So I have been listening to this on repeat whole day at work today..but I am still not able to sing along to this song..he always has this very unique way to sing the verse I don't know...may be I am multitasking so it is difficult for me haha....I need to practice more so that I can sing along when I see you in April :)
The message of this song is beautiful
Wow what a great composition when ever I see this it's make me happy...
That is a remarkable song. Wow.
Beautiful song
Awesome.
I love, love, love your voice. Your voice make me really happy :)
love this song!!
Saw you for the first time in Salt Lake City recently. Truly blown away. Truly. Fan for life.
may the light lead the world away from the dark....
My favourite singer for ever, you are not only a singer but also philosopher of life!
Super beautiful magic beat .......
Stay in light, Brazil!
Sooooooo Beautiful ♥

Even though I'm not an atheist, I love the beginning of this video. It always makes me happy. I think more Godless congregations should... congregate :) Life is good.
José González the fucking genius
When in Poland, Jose? Greetings!
Jose Come to PERU please!
José González se parece a mohamed sala :v el del Liverpool.
why is this video unlisted? is it not out officially yet?
This is the music of TODAY! Thank you!!! Where are you from?!
;o) a écouter
What are people's thoughts on this video? I kind of feel like it's partly sincere in the whole celebration vibe, but there's a sort of weirdness underlying it all in the filming style, and I'm not sure what to make of that…
