I totally agree. There's such a deep humanness and sense of community, almost in a tribal and primitive way, coming out of his music. And the wisdom of simplicity as well. Truly inspiring. I'm really curious about what his musical influences are. With his use of pedal points and mixolydian/dorian modes and quartal harmony, it kind of sounds like nordic folk (which would make sense considering that he lives in Sweden).

I had the exact same feelings when I was listening to this. I can so relate to what you said. It feels like coming opening doors to a time, to a place that once was, that once existed, that was pure, bright, airy and full of joy and openness. I can't explain that feeling. This song helps me scratch the opening to that window.

I first heard Jose's mesmerizing voice with Zero 7. Since then, I've been an avid admirer of his work. Probably the most distinctive voice I've ever heard. All you need is one note/lyric and you know immediately it's Jose. He evokes so much emotion with just his guitar and voice, it's truly remarkable.

i remember back around 2011 when i hangout in my cousin's house on a weekend, i used to play this game called Red Dead Redemption on his PS3 for hours. then theres one moment where my character goes across the border to fictional Mexico, and the game starts to play Gonzalez's "Far Away", i felt so immersed listening to it as i watch my character rides his horse throughout the desert landscape.. now here i am, 10 years afterwards, still entranced by his newest songs haha

Thank you so much for your art, José! I'm 22 and listen to your music for half of my life now. This video, your lyrics and what Mikel writes about information bits and how they form ever-changing patterns, about mind viruses... "Join forces and deal with it, head on". It resonates a lot. We're in crazy times! When will we as a collective see ideas as what they are - ideas, projections, castles of thought straight from the mind? When will we be willing to focus on the Living and Real, on that what connects us all without excluding any uniqueness, that we all bring as expressions of life? Can we choose love over fear? I'm giving my best and I send love to everyone who's reading this.
