Jordan Suckley Tech Trance Masterclass
Jordan Suckley joins us at Point Blank Music School to deconstruct his latest track, "C.Y.M" on "Who's Afraid of 138", Armin Van Buuren's faster label, which is reserved for the likes of Tech and Psy Trance. With over 120 channels in his Logic Pro X project, Jordan shows why he truly is a maverick in his style of Tech Trance.

Even though I don't use Logic, I learnt heaps from Jordan. I also learnt that naming your channels after the sound makes remembering where everything is way easier.

really appreciate these. great insight from a great producer. we also get to see the personality behind the producers too which is awesome
Great some trance! Yeah there is a lot of work, many tracks and channels , interviewer seems surprised. This is more complex than easy dance / house (not that it's not good). And this is tech trance, some other styles ask more work. There's a lot to learn. Thank you Jordan.
Fantastic video, loads of tips and experience. Well done guys!!
Really love tech trance and Jordan's stuff! Thank you for this video! Wish there was more Tech Trance tutorials from Mark Sherry or Heatbeat for example...
Great video. Thank you guys.
Thanks Jordan & DJ Ravine, I learned so much! Watching now for second time :)
Wow, very condensed information here. I for one would love to see more videos like this.
Awesome thanks you Jordan !
Amazing masterclass, really helpful and appreciated. Thank you so much for this!
great tutorial, a lot of tips are shared, much appreciated!
Awesome! Thanks for letting us peak into your production process
Bro this is the best trance deconstruction there is.
this is an epic learning curve soild advise
Brilliant love that masterclass... some great insight to how a pro does it! Cheers! Can I ask, how long in total apart from the mastering does it take Jordan to make a complete track?
More tech trance tutorials. Thanks
dope song
Great watch! Making me wanna produce trance x)

Well, you guys talked about Radio Edits on Spotify, and I know a lot of labels don't upload the extended mixes anyway top prevent ripping or even so just uploading it a few weeks after the release of the radio edit for people who really like it, but I always preffer extended mixes over radio edits, as I love tracks to build up smoothly over time and not just have a three minute cut
That’s a nice laptop stand you have over there!! 😀
Thanks Jordan Suckley
One of the greatest producers in the world
Fan of his sound for a while. fucking DOPE! Nice to see Ravine on here as well.
Good luck with what yous are doing 👉🌠🌠🌠
Phenomenal! What was the reference track?
2021 Techno trance and old hardtrance is best high Energy genre i heard ever even have more Energy of big room crap ✔️👍
Very PSY influenced Tech Trance. Basically a tame Psy sound :)
Fuark!
only two layers in the melody ? amazing !
I'm seeing a lot of Dave Parkinson Future Trance samples. makes me feel not so bad for using them too haha
It’s always good to see producers make kickass music with Logic Pro! In my opinion, Reason projects work much better when they’re rewired to Logic or Pro Tools. Propellerhead made a huge mistake ... they shouldn’t have ditched rewire support.
I thought recent producers are creating their own synths, or arp, or any stuffs.

It’s interesting how trap presets in Serum don’t sound anything like Trance to Trance producers. You see, since I’ve never been into trap, to my ears the trap sounds sound exactly like EDM sounds.
Jordan, other than a few synths and fxs this track is pretty narrow. It's been a while for me since I was in a club/festival, but today every electronic song is wider than Texas tip to tip and most of them have straight up audible and extreme phasing. Kinda like the effect in this video of mine: kzread.info/dash/bejne/poyrmLeloqjcfrw.html Can you still not get away with mixing super-wide for a club track, or have the venues caught up stereo-wise?
1 3 8
if this was moving any faster, I think I might have developed epilepsy. pro gamers are rubbing their eyes. how many lines of coke did they do before the interview? :) Reminds me of Spud interviewing for a job in the Trainspotting
Bring back Ski and Declan!!!
Top Video. Interviewers : "5 Synths, thats a lot"! . Ughh no it's not hahaha
The big teacher Jordan Suckely
Great vid! Need to get dj Khalid on here
this would be good if he was actually showing it instead of speeding through it
this is psytrance
Get Dave Parkinson on, the actual guy behind all these Tech Trance DJ's tunes

You guys need to learn the difference between sound engineer and ghost producer, there's no shame in having someone like Dave polish your ideas for you as opposed to claiming someone else's work entirely as your own.
@piotr9914

Jymn E.B. I would argue there should be shame especially because polishing up an idea is often the part producers struggle the most and some will go out of their way against all reasons to do 100% their own work. Engineering is part of the artistic process in this kind of music and if you want to own your music then you better do 100% of your own work

jordan "to be fair" suckley lol
This would easily make a 9 min track if he added the sounds gradually
You won't only improve your production skill, but also British English listening skills.
I don't hear the techno part of the tech trance in this track. To me this sounds more like a mix between modern psy trance and classic trance. But whatever gets you going ;)

nym053 he often makes psytrance but u prob know that now
Oh man ... i thought the last years that the mastering studios of the tracks are responsible for the zero dynamics and loudness war, but look at his master channel ... this track is already dynamicly dead before it goes to mastering. Why??? When will this madness "I must be the loudest producer" end? Dynamic over Loudness!!! The ears of the listeners will be thankful for it. It doesn't matter if the mixdown is great and you can hear anything if all is at the same loudness. This comes at a cost ...

After I saw your comment, I start recognizing the master,... since that moment I was in the red light district. The waveform must look like a big black bar from start to end... Even without Kick & Bass everything is clipping 😳
CYM = call your mom!
I have no idea why this is called Tech Trance, it has absolutely nothing from Techno. This is something between straight Trance, PsyTrance & Goa, but most of the sounds remind me of Eurodance and early commercial "Techno/Rave" like Brooklin Bounce, Gambas, Floorfiilla, Paffendorf. Don't miss understand me, there is nothing wrong with these acts or sound, cause music is never wrong & personal tastes & Workflows are different, I just was wondering that i can't hear any influence of Techno.
Hardly a masterclass. No tips just showed us the project

I think you mean its an off beat pattern, which is also used in psytrance for example: Liquidhook by liquid soul and captain hook

Anyway... the track is super groovy i think plus he is a wayyy better producer than me so who am i to talk. I just hate when people think bass lines defines psy trance damn. It really gets to me, like how can you talk that shit about my favorite genre EVER
@SpennieLence

Psy is completely dead sounding against Jordans sound, it's more beefier and more in depth sounding.
@bonuskind6992

U talk a lot !!!!
That style you two are discussing and calling psytrance, vini vici, Fabio and Moon all that big stage Coachella Tomorrow land stuff is a joke in the psytrance scene. You should give it a new name because it's not considered psytrance by psytrance artists/labels
I genuinely thought this video was meant ironically up until about 5 minutes, never heard of tech trance and really found this quite a bad produced song. Btw who the hell cares how many channels he's using lol, I myself wouldn't put it in the description at least.
