    Thank you this tutorial. This tutorial stands out compared to others. 👌 I have watched a lot of Kick-Bass-Tutorials. There are not very many tutorials about Trance Bass Design available, and when they are, they beat around the bush a lot or they omit essential background information. This tutorial gets to the heart of the matter, explains briefly and succinctly the "why" or the background, what goal is being pursued with one setting or another and why this step is necessary. Out of gratitude and curiosity, you have at least made sure that I will buy your Trance / Psytrance bass Masterclass. 💸 Thank you very much for the numerous AHA moments. 🤩

    Just found your tutorial and it really adds a lot of value to this subject. Though I know its posted months ago, and maybe I’m late but it would be great to hear from as to why you did not low pass the sub completely around the bass range but made small cuts in the octaves to make room for the mid -basses? This something new for me as the conventional knowledge has been to low pass sub/ high pass bass to prevent overlap and keep them in mono. Thanks so much for these tutorials!

  • @reorderdj

    @reorderdj

    The sub is always mono mate. Has to be to keep it consistent. I tweaked the first 2 peaks just so the bass sounded the way I like it. Nice and warm. Mid basses are mainly for the grove and a little color for the bass as a whole;) hope it answers the questions;)

    Thanks so much for your quick reply! Sorry if I missed something as I’m new to music production, but I was wondering to whether we need to cut the sub at the bass frequency at around 100 hz more or less, so to leave space to layer a mid basses and high above it? Or can we leave the sub as it is and low cut the mid and higher basses to avoid frequency clashes? Your tips are highly appreciated! And I’ m happy to subscribe to your channel.

    Hi Tibor, great tutorial. I didn't know about reducing the peaks on the sub, useful info! One question, at 6:20, when you apply the LFO to the first mid bass, you explain why it's a good idea to put the point in the middle, but I couldn't quite hear what the reason is. Can you explain? Thanks a lot.

  • @reorderdj

    @reorderdj

    2 жыл бұрын

    Thank you for the question;) it’s basic psychology of the sound. Kick is on beat and bass hits in between kicks. It makes the flow of the track nicer and feels faster and easier to move to.

  • @drk5182

    @drk5182

    @@reorderdj Ah okay, so it's due to the symmetry between the kick and bass, the sweet spot is in the middle, thanks. From the end of the video it looks like this isn't just any old kick and bass loop, but it's the actual one from your remix of "Fiji"? If I'm correct, I think it was a good idea to include this at the end because we feel we are learning something authentic, not generic. Great video!

    When I first started making trance 20 years ago, my. brain couldn't come to terms with the fact that other than the sub bass, the basslines contained no bass frequencies. Obviously now it makes total sense, but for anyone starting out, this is such an important lesson. Mid basses contain no bass. The ONLY elements that contain actual bass are the kick and sub bass!

    This was a really nice tutorial, thanks man for the bassline tips! I have to ask btw! Did you get your Sennheiser HD 380 Pro headphones recently? They look new. :) I'm worried because mine are almost 10 years old, and I've been trying to find a new one but they've been discontinued

    my big issue is with things like how do you know you need 3 mid basses? why not 2? why not 4? is it just something you do as standard practice?

  • @reorderdj

    Is just how it was done in the Fiji Remix. The principal is always the same. Mid bass isn’t sub bass🙌🏻

    No compression? Can a kick stand out without compression and parallel compression?

  • @reorderdj

    @reorderdj

    Since the kick sample already great and thanks to sidechain and EQ there is nothing really interfering with the kick than there is no need for it. I sometimes glue the kick and sub together with slight compression to make them pop.
