Thank you this tutorial. This tutorial stands out compared to others. 👌 I have watched a lot of Kick-Bass-Tutorials. There are not very many tutorials about Trance Bass Design available, and when they are, they beat around the bush a lot or they omit essential background information. This tutorial gets to the heart of the matter, explains briefly and succinctly the "why" or the background, what goal is being pursued with one setting or another and why this step is necessary. Out of gratitude and curiosity, you have at least made sure that I will buy your Trance / Psytrance bass Masterclass. 💸 Thank you very much for the numerous AHA moments. 🤩

Hey @Reorder, thanks for the vid. Do you mind sharing the sounds that comprise the individual bass sounds? Thanks!
Just found your tutorial and it really adds a lot of value to this subject. Though I know its posted months ago, and maybe I’m late but it would be great to hear from as to why you did not low pass the sub completely around the bass range but made small cuts in the octaves to make room for the mid -basses? This something new for me as the conventional knowledge has been to low pass sub/ high pass bass to prevent overlap and keep them in mono. Thanks so much for these tutorials!
@reorderdj

The sub is always mono mate. Has to be to keep it consistent. I tweaked the first 2 peaks just so the bass sounded the way I like it. Nice and warm. Mid basses are mainly for the grove and a little color for the bass as a whole;) hope it answers the questions;)

Thanks so much for your quick reply! Sorry if I missed something as I’m new to music production, but I was wondering to whether we need to cut the sub at the bass frequency at around 100 hz more or less, so to leave space to layer a mid basses and high above it? Or can we leave the sub as it is and low cut the mid and higher basses to avoid frequency clashes? Your tips are highly appreciated! And I’ m happy to subscribe to your channel.
Sweet vid yet again!. As an abelton noob, why do you group the bass tracks together?

I have a question I saw u EQ the SubBass at 3:34 C and F are tuned down few dBs But does it still works with the plurk or lead comes in? I mean's when the track goes to another session ex.drop..etc (SubBass will change) Should I change the EQ to another key at the same time? or Just let them still at C & F ?
Any more tutorials coming?
Thank you so much bro!!! Hello from Moscow I'm Andrew Drummer! I make uplifting too! Thanks for this video!!! how about doing a joint uplifting track with you my friend?
Hi Tibor, great tutorial. I didn't know about reducing the peaks on the sub, useful info! One question, at 6:20, when you apply the LFO to the first mid bass, you explain why it's a good idea to put the point in the middle, but I couldn't quite hear what the reason is. Can you explain? Thanks a lot.
@reorderdj
2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the question;) it’s basic psychology of the sound. Kick is on beat and bass hits in between kicks. It makes the flow of the track nicer and feels faster and easier to move to.
@drk5182
2 жыл бұрын
@@reorderdj Ah okay, so it's due to the symmetry between the kick and bass, the sweet spot is in the middle, thanks. From the end of the video it looks like this isn't just any old kick and bass loop, but it's the actual one from your remix of "Fiji"? If I'm correct, I think it was a good idea to include this at the end because we feel we are learning something authentic, not generic. Great video!
thanks a lot. would much appreciate if you could show how to make a kick for a trance track since it is one of most important things and failing to do it in the right way may kiil the whole track. thanks!

@@reorderdj thanks, but it is not possible to tailor a sample kick for your track, e.g. tone. That is why it would be useful to learn how to do a kick from the scratch in a right way. Thanks

When I first started making trance 20 years ago, my. brain couldn't come to terms with the fact that other than the sub bass, the basslines contained no bass frequencies. Obviously now it makes total sense, but for anyone starting out, this is such an important lesson. Mid basses contain no bass. The ONLY elements that contain actual bass are the kick and sub bass!

Arigatou for How to Kake Trance Video
I have a few question. 1. Do we have to turn all the bassline to "mono"? Or Low and the sub bass only to mono? 2. How do u sidechain your bassline? The way I see it now, u sidechaining everything are by using LFOtool. Which gives more accuracy? Is it lfo, or built-in plugins?
@reorderdj
4 жыл бұрын
Just the sub should be mono but there are exceptions for example in the low pad bass in breakdown.
Awesome! I missed something though. Why do you want the sub waveform smaller (quieter) than the kick?)
@reorderdj
4 жыл бұрын
Chelsea James just a little lower, so there is a better flow when all sounds are playing. Trance is not psytrance. Subbass is not fundamental. Kick is tho;) so to have some balance I choose kick to be more dominant

Since the kick sample already great and thanks to sidechain and EQ there is nothing really interfering with the kick than there is no need for it. I sometimes glue the kick and sub together with slight compression to make them pop.
