Don’t give an inch.

Years ago they tried implementing clear language laws. It all boiled down to the idea, the simpler the language the better. It was a notionally good idea at the time. Still lawyers obfuscated everything they touched. For me to exercise a self expression such as a verbal slur directed at an individual or group, violates some law. Who benefits from these language laws? No one living under these laws to be sure. At least it never benefited anyone in the eastern block under communism, or in China. Eight year olds shouldn't be allowed to write legislation let alone develop a societal language.

You can’t legislate respect. When you force respect, you create resentment.

As someone who lives in Americas northeast, I can say this entire political movement has taken things from a personal area of choice, to a forced view the general public may be forced to have too or else. Enough, take your parades home where they belong. Just like your choice of sexual partner or your sexual identities interchangeability to those that think it should be interchangeable. Do what you want, but keep it to yourself.

Reminder to all new Peterson fans: This video was originally taken in 2016 (iirc). Canada recently passed new legislation (Bill C 36 i believe) that go even further than this. Canada is no longer a democracy that values free speech and anyone that *does* needs to leave already.

I think we need to make it a legal registry for the Identity in which you would like to go by.... one time change... and you get a cool little arm band that shows your flag on it...

All the years I have had to put up with horrible, sexual language as well as insult to Our God and Savor, now I must bow down to more sexually insults which do not have to be face to face conflicts. I used to LOVE JPs university lectures. I think he is missing the advantage of one of his greatest talents: to relate and effectively communicate that empathy. He comes off as very holier than thou here, and I don’t think his impeccable logic will win anyone over. I think if he really wanted to change votes he’d do better to focus on convincing them…not convincing them he’s right (note the title to this video). Love ya JP, but to shift the tide, your approach has to be tailored towards those you disagree with, not those who already see eye to eye with you. Seems like this is a forever problem of both sides. And I get that this is probably an impossible crowd…but still.
