Jordan is very intelligent. In order to understand a principle you have to listen at least 4-5 min. If he is interrupted every 30 seconds..... you don't get shit.

It's not like they'd have to take time out of their lives, I'm sure something could be arranged for when they're sleeping, any power generated by dreams should suffice. And yes, I know Ben's wife is a doctor! Y'know, one of these days, I'd like her to be revealed as a lawyer or something, just to see the giant scandal. It would be interesting to see Ben discuss his own scandalous affairs, and view how he'd react. I wonder if he'd deny knowing her true occupation.

Alex Rodriguez I suppose the term 'a lot' is quite subjective, isn't it? It could mean there is a small lot of us or big lot of us. Also, it would be realitive to what I'm comparing it to. It's really very vague. Have you surveyed KZread users to guage how many female JP fans exist or do you know of some stats you can point me to? I'm genuinely interested. I'm not trying to suggest that most or even a quarter of JP's fan base is female but in the context of his millions of followers and certainly compared to the media's representation that his following is all young men, there are a lot of us. That said, I'm obliged to consede that my description was ambiguous. Barring data I'm not aware of, we're all kinda guessing based on our personal observations and what little JP has said on the subject, aren't we? Nonetheless, point taken. How's this: there are a lot more of us than the media likes to believe...? Is that a more agreeable way to phrase my opinion?

Here’s an opinion: Ben promoting his sponsors is not as annoying as many KZread commenters make it out to be, especially since 1.) you’re watching these full length videos for F-R-E-E on KZread 2.) you can fast forward through them if they really bug you (I know skipping through KZread videos is an immensely difficult concept for some) 3.) Sponsors pay for the staff and the production, both of which I quite like. I mean, look at those heat lamps. 4.) YOU’RE GETTING THIS CONTENT FOR FREE ON KZread

Mr. Caligos - he knows pretty much, but intelligent people know that there's is still plenty more they don't know. Compared to some conceited ass of person that stopped learning when they finished school. They got their paper and their 'status' and they basically stopped thinking. Ego takes over completely. Which means they begin to forget what little they know, start to say stupid things. They think they are super smart, ascribing delusional high status to themselves and they never listen properly to anyone especially those with less 'status.' They do not know what they do not know, there's no humility, and the rift between Ego and reality only becomes bigger over time. It's a tragedy because every human life is a valuable potential.

Personal sponsors that he plugs during his video, and additionally the normal KZread ad revenue from KZread's ads. It's totally ridiculous.

Luke Billi Anyone else having a hard time understanding Peterson on an intellectual level? I know he's intelligent but I feel like he overcomplicates his thoughts just to reassure us that he's intelligent. I can grasp a lot of what he's saying but then he'll drone on and start using multiple complex words strung together. I'll be honest, I can't assemble it all properly in my head before he's already on to the next thought. I don't know if this is an intellectual way of showing off, or maybe I just need to read more and learn more words. I don't consider myself to be a dummy but some of this discussion makes me feel like one lol.

Bmetalful I know what you mean... the issue is that he has a long career in academics, so he had to read many super difficult books for a long time. In his mind he’s simplifying and using plain language. When you compare his language to a Kant or a jung, he’s actually using very plain language. But, I think it’s better to read him than to listen to him... I find that allows me time to absorb the thoughts. I was happy to see your comment because my experience is similar. :)

Bmetalful I totally get what you're saying but in his case I think, from viewing many of his speeches, that he's using the best words that precisely explain what he means as a way to be careful. Even if the words are at another analytical level he's covering himself as in today's time you have the media extracting even a small bit of what you may say and misconstrue it. In some ways it's actually good because it makes you think about what these words mean and as you go deeper it allows you to further understand the deeper meaning in the thought that he's bringing about.

This is the first time I’ve ever felt I can take the benefits and teachings of religion while reconciling it with my logical dismissive-ness of fundamentalist type interpretations. I had to watch this twice and eventual had an ah-ha moment of what he was actually saying. Quite beautiful.

But we definitely need a series of Shapiro interviews with Peterson to clarify underlying realities before converting into new government policy changes that will hopefully fix our bumbling attempts at steering our culture by adulterating our children’s educations and citizens’ lives thru past bad government policies implemented with NO test of consequences, just doubled down with copious amounts of money to extend the programs & do even greater harm.

I mean... the amount of wisdom laid out in this short span of an interview is just astounding. I could watch Peterson synthezise all these thoughts and idead of his into consumable chunks for hours on end. Everything is so damn well founded, carefully laying the path up to the punchline. Most topics covered here get me thinking "this is it. He figured it out". He actually IS doing the exact thing he is describing. By dramatizing the heros journey we can observe and extract the optimal patterns and rules for behaving in our heirarchy. He is doing this, but on a level of even higher abstraction. He extract the role of the truth of the hero's customs and patterns into how it plays out in the world. Consciousness extracts the potential of the world into reality, and consciousness also works in unison with itself to propagate a maximized rate or manifestation into what is good. The implications are SO massive. The intellectual feat of performing this in such a coherent manner is nothing short of remarkable. Good lord, the love I have for this man.

The BBC tries to be "all things to all people" as it were, but it's content is not worth the compulsory licence fee imo. Even the David Attenborough series, as soothing as they are, are formulaic and predictable. As he comes towards the end of his career Attenborough has finally begun to use his immense cache to speak out on climate change, habitat loss and species death and decline but too little, too late...the BBC is so politically correct and forever endeavouring not to be perceived as having an editorial stance coloured by any politically driven ideological agenda (under threat by successive Governments to take away it's licence) that it treats its audience as naive children instead of presenting programmes that deal with and reflect reality in all its diverse and often unpleasant manifestations, in a truthful way head on....everything has to be approached obliquely and with kid gloves...nobody is allowed to be offended or to be given the chance to be confronted and deal with uncomfortable or challenging truths or opinions, even in a safe TV studio environment...unless you count Question Time or other sound bite studio debates that are pointless, repetitive exercises in political evasion and diversion, political point scoring and playing to the gallery... fundamentally, its the sanitised, modern day equivalent of Roman Gladiatorial Battles and as fake as pro Wrestling. As much as I utterly reject Marxist and Fascist ideologies I want them to be given a platform to be discussed, debated, subjected to scrutiny, held to account and ultimately exposed by superior ideas, philosophies, ethics, axioms and logic. Unfortunately there is a huge amount of ignorance, both wilful and naive, amongst those possessed by these ideologies and the more cognitive dissonance they can be subjected to the better, preferably in the mainstream media as well on the internet. There is a lot of political fatigue, stress, frustration, fear and bad feeling over BREXIT in the UK but even if the circumstances aren't ideal, over the last two years the public has become more acclimated to engaging in political debate and been almost forced not only to make an initial ideological choice but also, hopefully in many cases, to re-evaluate that choice in light of new information and the unfolding, changing reality, or at least coming to a new realisation of its detrimental outcomes. Some have become more entrenched in spite of increasing evidence which proves that leaving the EU and the single market will be very bad for the Economy and for the majority of the population, especially on WTO terms. It remains to be seen if the incompetence and ineptitude of the Conservative Government will eventually be punished at the next GE but the vision of a Radical Socialist Labour Party steering the nation through the likely very turbulent waters that lie ahead is not a happy thought and I sincerely hope that the anger, cynicism, energy and appetite for change that swept Corbyn to power in the Labour leadership challenge following the dumping of his insipid, bland and feeble predecessor, proves to be merely a case of a temporary, frustration driven, ideological shift to the far left that simply runs out of steam before it gets its hands on any real executive power. The damage they could potentially do not only to the Economy but to the Nation's statute books and to the Education System doesn't bear thinking about. I hope that the experience of engaging with and weighing up the facts and evidence relating to BREXIT and the terms of BREXIT will have sharpened up the electorates political and economic nous and critical thinking in sufficient numbers of those who would normally cast their vote for a more consensus based, slightly left of centre Labour party to realise the dangers and reject the current hard Socialist version If I've gone too far off topic I apologize but I do think it's incumbent upon those of those who share Jordan Peterson's justified antipathy towards the hard left ideologues to educate people just how dangerous and damaging a Corbyn led Labour party could potentially be if it were to be returned to power. These are very dangerous and uncertain times, the state of politics in Britain has probably never been as bad or in as perilous a position as it is in today, not even the Major Government was this weak. There is a very apparent lack of competence in Parliament and on the front and back benches of the oppostion and a complete absence of strong, decisive and wise leadership. If only we had politicians with the same level of scientific rigour, intellect, integrity, rhetorical power, conviction and drive as Peterson, Shapiro and Weinstein!

This is probably the most engaging hour I have ever experienced. Listening to the thoughts unfold and hanging on every word… appreciating Jordan’s honesty about the current boundaries of his thoughts and his unpacking of ridiculously complex topics… respecting Shapiro’s humility along with his appreciation for what is unfolding in front of him… It really does not get any better than this. We are incredibly fortunate that Dr. Peterson was thrust into the spotlight due to a random confrontation in some non-descript location. To think the encounter was made public in order to cancel him and yet, it could not have had a more opposite effect. I would personally like to thank that angry short-sighted tribal band of misfits for ushering Dr. Peterson to the stage. It is truly where he belongs so humanity can benefit from his wisdom. Belthazor22 It means I am a tribal from the North East, people in the North East of India live in tribes - does not mean we are backward though. I am a Mizo, from Mizoram - one of the seven sister states of the NE India, Mizoram is the second most literate state in India. But it is a small state, and has the 2nd lowest population density among the states in India. But, I live in Bangalore though & have been living in South India for most of my life now.

This is the first interview of Dr. Peterson I found where both of them are on the same page and they resonated each other fantastically. Hats off to Ben for keeping up with the same pace for thought process with Jordan. Amazing insights. Both of you please do a more lengthy analytical conversation. You can take breaks. That won't matter. But the depth of these topics are far greater than I had imagined. Loved the whole conversation.

I've been listening and learning from Peterson's talks. I couldn't understand anything the first time I heard him because I have no knowledge in these areas, but as I began to understand what he said, it really amazed me his analytical abilities. He could imagine a whole situation himself and have so much to talk about it.

I really admired a person who says “this is stretching my thoughts out beyond where I been able to develop them”. That is what this interview done for me and one of the reasons why Dr. Peterson has such a following because he realizes he doesn’t know it all and he still working the puzzle wherever the pieces will take him. Unlike 100% of the leftist establishment who knows it all and call you the idiot who needs to be helped, even by force. Great interview, thanks Ben keep them coming.

When they started to talk about evolution, Truth and everything else towards the end, it just went into overdrive. I've watched this multiple times and those parts really were terrific, hair-raising, exciting moments. They were really talking about the deepest ideas of well everything, and they came as close as possible to a logical, rational, scientific explanation of the what is the ultimate Truth and Divine, by using both rational reductionism and spiritual, dogmatic, faith-based beliefs, and came up with something both believers and non-believers could agree to. That is nothing short of a miracle. And all that without psychedelics! Amazing! Great stuff!

Serge: yeah. But partly it might be also, that when you hear same material 2nd or 3rd time, you simply understand some deeper aspect of it than earlier times. His view on religion and God ... I think I am at "understand 20% of it" at the moment :-/ ... - compared to 0.1% 1 year ago. And yes: I am absolutely convinced he has a deeper reason why he says "depends what you mean with God", which many mock about him. I think I agree with his view but I wouldn't insist on using the word "God" for it.

@The Other Point Of View I see that as him giving credit to his sources. Everyone relies on those who came before them. I think part of his success is the ability to order and make sense of all the psychological research that came before him. That's how one creates an accurate far reaching world view - to assemble and annotate all the observations and experiences one has, including the ideas of others.

Serge... you are hilarious. First you claim Peterson (and I assume Shapiro) are "smart" when one rejects Christ and the other does not know whether he was the "son of God". Then (amazingly) within that context you mention the name of God as if it's His Blessing to have two men who deny Jesus as our "idols". You are just hysterically funny in your willful ignorance... and you don't have a clue. Good thing for you that ignorance is bliss. ------------------
