The midsole appears to be a downgrade from the Jordan 36, considering the tech. I've tried Formula 23 under foot and although it feels nice, it's no substitute for a full-length Zoom Strobel.

Agreed. It looks like a straight downgrade compared to the midsole setup on the 36s. They probably just wanted to sell their gimmicky 'new' phylon as a premium basketball foam.

If you like zoom strobe it's a downgrade for you for sure! You can't find anything to replace the feeling of a zoom strobel!

Imo it doesn't make a huge impact because it was placed under your heel the double zoom unit under forefoot is great so i think the jordan 37 is going to perform well

💯the formula 23 on the Lukas were just plain unresponsive. The Luka 1’s in general were sub par for mine….

Honestly kind of a let down. Formula 23 just seems like glorified phylon. Definitely not a substitute for a full length zoom strobel unit. Great review though Zach!

True. While newer brands are progressing really well with their foam tech (taking boost and making it much better with pebax), nike / jb seems to be stuck with variations phylon

I haven’t tried it yet but I think the problem is the same they did when they introduced react, being that they caged the hell out of it, due to that it has nowhere to stretch and squish making it dead and stiff even though it should be softer than it is. Once they free it and treat it more like react and cushlon it’ll be a hit

@@Whitesquall123 i have only tried the trc blaze, kyrie infinities, kyrie 7 and zoom freak 4. I personally prefer the zoom freak 4 and kyrie 7 because I am usually hitting and jumping a lot.

This shoe pays homage to the old Jordans of the past design-wise and I love it.

Apparently all the 30s take inspiration from the Jordans 30 years prior - 31 inspired by 1s, 32 by 2s, etc.

Just got the 37s and they’re actually perfect for me! The upper is mid, just does the job fine. But the main reason I love it so much is the cushioning. When moving forward/jumping the formula 23 really helps with the stability, kinda acting like an anchor when u start your gait. Then when u transfer all that stored energy into the forefoot, the zoom units propels u like crazy.

Would like to see different colorways. the shoe doesnt look as sleek or fast to me like the 34-36’s. Maybe a low version might fix it?

Hey Zach I think it would be interesting if you can do a performance review of all the retro Jordans, interesting to see if they can still be usable and how they compare to modern tech😂

This grew on me so fast and I'm actually a fan of it now. Durability of the outsole, breathable upper and zoom strobel in the forefoot is great imo. The other signature shoe that I'm excited for is the kyrie 8, can't wait for you to review it.

I have a pair size 12, Kyrie 8

At first try on these feel like a more bouncy version of the Jordan 28 covered in a similar material to the Hyperdunk 2015…love the carbon fiber as it makes this an upgrade over the Jordan 36 which was unstable and hurt my Achilles due to all the twisting on foot. Formula 23 is great addition in the heel for those of us who really hoop, hoop This shoe feels as bouncy as the Jordan 36.

Cosmic Unity 2 next?

My daughter got the women's Satou for netball. She has chronic sesamoiditis and has been wearing the BB Nxt for years as only shoe that minimised pain playing, but they're hard to get now, so we've tried a lot of others. First wear she loves the toe cushion in these, felt weird to her for a couple of minutes, felt like her toe area was rolling in and she hated it, but didn't notice it after wearing for a while. She didn't find the traction as good as BBs or GT jump. Loved how flexible and light and airy they were. More court feel and lighter than BBs, but impact protection and cushiin feel comparable. She felt good lockdown with tight laces. She's a lightweight quick attacker who's on her toes a lot, has a key shaped foot, very narrow to wide in toe area, so great for wider toe area. Room to curl her toes in shoe. She's a shooter and loved the feel of these for shooting and the heel to toe transition. Good match for her lightweight and style of play, especially her forefoot problems. She's yet to try them in a game, but loves them so far and time will tell how well rubber lasts outdoor and on turf and indoor. She does wish the traction was better and had more bite as can't step or drag at all in netball. She also finds material creases in upper toe area which annoys her a bit. Overall though toe cushion most important to her and personally best she's found since BBs. True to size for her. On sale A$199. Wouldn't pay original A$280.

Thanks for the review, Zach. Very informative as usual. The esthetics appear to be a letdown compared to the 36’s. The 36’s look way cleaner. Based on your review, it doesn’t look like it’s worthwhile to shell out another $200 if you already have the 36’s.

Cosmic 2 are getting good reviews. Please compare 37- needed full length zoom air. Double stack lump of the 36 are ankle sprainers. Seen it too many times. KD14 are still great but a bit too soft. PG6 are good as well. We need a top now list!

Now that I gave a pair....my opinion has changed. I love the cushioning. The forefoot is very plush and bouncy. The lack of heel Air is noticeable, but it's not a deal breaker because the shoe is so good otherwise. Hopefully the 38 goes back to a full length Zoom strobel. Or use a softer TPU cage for the Formula 23 foam wedge. Otherwise, the shoe is great. A carbon fiber shank....Leno upper....great outsole design and traction...and unmatched breathability. The subtle cues to the 7 and the litte Easter eggs on the shoe are a nice touch. I went up a full size, just as I have since the 31s. Enjoy

How’s the ankle support on these? Sprained my ankle in the PG 6 so really need a good shoe. The Greek freak 4s look nice with the outrigger so waiting for your review on that one

Great review as always Zach. I wanted to bring a shoe to your attention I believe you may find interesting that is the Wade 808 2. It is Li-nings version of the GT Cut the Wade 808 2. It retails for only $119 Markches has actually already touched on it & likened it more to the Kobe 8 than GT Cut. It also seems to address some of the bigger issues you experienced with the 2s. At the very least I thought you would find it interesting I don't believe you have done a Chinese drop-in BB review as of yet. Thank you for everything you've done and the work you continue to do I truly look forward to you're videos and very much appreciate the more analytic physiological breakdowns you're able to deliver ✌

Doc when you do a comparo on the 37 vs 36, can you do an updated jump test on the 36 again? I believe you got stronger since the 36 testing. I just couldn’t comprehend how the 37 jump height test beat the 36 by 4.5 inches more despite the 37 having not much springboard-ing..

For me bro the cosmic unity 2s had me sliding all over the floor .. 7/10 for comfyness and continually needing to be retied .. just a few things but I would buy them again .. I would go with Jordan delta 2 over those any day lmk what you think of you got them already

No eclipse plate..that’s good. Means that the part of the footbed where the arch is doesn’t press into your arch. That was the dealbreaker for me on the 36.

Think you could do a jump height test from a jump shot? Since some shoes are better indoor, I feel like seeing indoor jump height will be great! Keep it up Zach!

hi Zach awesome review, i just bought a pair of this a month ago. Normally I wear an US 11, went true to size for this one. however it seems like it runs alittle bigger as i could have as much as 2 finger slip behind the shoes and there were just a ever slight wiggle room in the front. Was wondering if this is what it supposed to do? if not, is it a good idea to add an insole into the shoes to make it fits abit better or this is not a good idea as it would affect the overall design of how the shoes works that I should just buy a different pair? Thanks !

True to size for standard wide feet. Slight ankle roll feel on ground, not really balanced feeling but ok. Only major design issue is the exposed shank on bottom. It chips up easily because it's not covered protected by rubber. So walking on cement pathways.. peebles of rocks... edges of cement steps... etc.. can tear up the mid shank. That's the only major issue I feel. I like the feel of the 36 better although that shoe also has a roll your ankle feel due to pertruding forefoot air bag. So silly the design on that shoe bottom. 37 is ok. Definitely a indoor basketball shoe.

Love every aspects of details, honest review and very straightforward, even JB design is kind of downgrade nowadays, thanks for smart review!!👍👍👍

So basically, 37 = comfort version of 36. Seem like the shank is short so the upper doesnt have to work extra to store energy when you bend the shoes! Also many forefoot targeted play style would welcome this version of lenoweave, since the shoes is more flexible.

these remind me of the air jordan 22 PE that released later in the 22's life span. maybe it's just me though. i like these better looks wise compared to the 34, 35, and 36. i just hope they're wide foot friendly even with going haIf a size up those other shoes fit really snug. thanks for the detailed review.

Zach would you say this shoe is more wide foot friendly than the lebron 20? I get a lot of pinky and side of foot irritation in the lebron 20.

These, imo, look a lot like those old adidas adizero crazy light..

Hi Zach, I just played this shoes for 4x already. The shoes is very comfortable given that I'm a highflyer type of player. Although, what's really weird is thay I'm experiencing cramps on my toes area whenever I do my first step to take-off for a drive or lay up. It's kinda weird that whenever the double stacked is pressed down, my toes got a "cramps" effect.S

Quick question. Picking the game back up after years of hibernation (last Jordan’s were the original VIII’s 😅) Been playing on the Jordan Jumpman Diamond mids (EU44,5) for a while, but they irritate my ankle- and achilles tendons pretty severe. The “ankle-bulge” on either side of the shoe is too low and stiff, even after some good hours of play. Are these more comfortable? I’m not looking for any performance upgrades, just like a decent shoe to play in. While running on my Brooks Adrenaline GTS roadshoes (weekly basis) I have no issues at all. Any tips?
