As you can see the guy in the movie was hit with a breakaway bottle and he was hit with the side which instantly shatters it. Jon was hit with the bottom rim which, sugar glass or not, is one of the hardest parts of a bottle. I now realize every bottle thrown at jon hit him with the rim.

Yes, it may have been a lighter prop brick so it could stay on for a moment longer. I think Jon didn't expect it to fall, so when it hit him, he played up the damage for an exaggerated funny moment.

Actually, they really were using break away bottles. It's made of sugarglass, which is hard sugar like what hard candy and lollipops are made of. Break away objects still hurt, which many people using them for the first time don't expect. This happened to Markiplier using breakable objects, as they're still hard solids - they just aren't as dangerous as the real thing. If they used a real glass bottle, Jon's face would be full of many cuts and be shredded up immediately. He, like many people, didn't expect the prop objects to hurt as much as they did. Most people see them on tv and expect it to be weaker. So it's understandable to think it was a real bottle, since it doesn't seem like the fake ones would hurt, but they do (they're just not lethal) - and Jon learned a hard lesson that day.

@@stitchlover4381 Fair, but when you don't expect pain, things can feel like it hurts a lot more. Like if you pull off a bandaid vs someone suddenly pulling it off without you knowing. If you don't expect it to hurt it can hurt more since you can't brace yourself. But yeah, more bottles mean more pain
