Jon Oxer and his Pick & Place Machine
Ғылым және технология
If you are interested in building electronic "things", then this video might be of interest to you. What if you had to manufacture 50 PCB's using smt/smd devices by a certain date... You could build them by hand, outsource to China but the numbers are pretty low so not attractive to them and it's slow for you. What if you could make them yourself?? That's what Jon Oxer asked himself before deciding to build a "Pick and Place Machine" using open source software and some hardware.
This video was recorded at linux.conf.au 2016 (LCA2016) in Geelong Australia. Many thanks to the organises for allowing me to participate. This video is put up as is "for the record". A huge thank you to Jon Oxer for his support of this channel, me personally and for sharing of his invaluable knowledge.

Uma maravilha seu canal ainda não tinha visto, nada a sim muito boa essa ideia. o difícil e conseguir o Software
Great video. I didn't know about OpenPNP until now. I actually understand all of your problems, but I gave up making my own, I bought a fairly good Chinese machine. It was around 5k last year... I couldn't do it by hand any more, it was too frustrating.

+Srečko Lavrič Your solution will always be the best for you if it enables you to do what you love. Great stuff!
Fascinating and brilliant. How does the solder paste get applied to the pads before the part is places? Did I miss that in the video?

+Robert Shaver No that part of it wasn't covered in the demo. However I filmed Jon and others using a stencil and squeegee to apply solder paste. I will cover this in other videos to come. Thanks for you comment

Paste is indeed often applied with a stencil. However, a carthesian robot (as shown in the video) would be able to do this as well. Like "3D printing" a layer of solderpaste on a flat surface.
This is fantastic! But where's the link to the plans to build one? :)

wow
could even use an elegoo mars or something top print all the nozzles
You better keep a low profile mate, if I run into you I'm going to ask you 99 questions.
The FPD was a disaster.
Or just save yourself the hassle and buy a brand new Samsung high sp[eed machine for $70k... what $million machines was he talking about?
outsource the assembly dude..... concentrate on electronics design and development.. outsourcing manufacturing is the way to go....
