Jolin Lab developer talk and Avalith otherworldly 100-oscillator drone synth | Superbooth 24

Музыка

At Superbooth 24, I met Frederico of Jolin Lab for a developer talk, including a first look at his new Avalith Synthesizer.
Jolin Lab Avalith is an otherworldly, bizarre-sounding analog drone Synthesizer with 100 transistor oscillators. These are followed by an analog filter, a good portion of feedback, and more

Didn’t impress me at all. Only noise

the demo did not sell the product very well and only made random noise. what if you could tune all 100 like look mum no computer in a tiny version only clickable button for each section per octave to control the tuning of each individual osc. 10 banks of 10 where each bank has a button that switches between 10 individual tunings but remains inside the octave. I've watched all the look mum no computer videos on his weird ideas and though I've never found a reason to believe his 100 oscillator drone has any real music world usage here is this tiny variation on a similar concept except the sound quality feels broken or way too many resistors.

thanks for your input. If it would be the same thing, it would be a clone of LMNC drone synth. This is, however, an own concept that has is own value, from a product and creativity. The good thing is that you don't have to like anything and you don't have to buy everything, otherwise we all need big warehouses instead of studio space to stock our synths ;). The Avalith is a project just on demand, so it's not a mass produced product where quantities are important. It serves a specific niche of interested people. If Frederico reaches this, he can be very happy. I'm always more happy to see such ideas and concepts than classic synths that we have tons of. Cheers :)
