I met Jolie Holland in the bathroom at a Pittsburgh show. It was kind of magical. ❤
Her music is like a heart key.
Copenhagen the 25th, can’t wait!
the performance on the third song was really, really remarkable
This is the soundtrack to the last 10 years of my life TBH. I absolutely love Jolie Holland.
Such a great band for this record! Was lucky to catch this set live that Summer.
Thanks for the session!
Classic & timeless. Voice of an angel=]
love her voice
Super duper awesome, as always.
WOW..what a band!
Best album yet.
Go, Jolie!
classic & timeless=]
What really gets me about this as an old punk rocker is the way she says its hard to find people with a common vision. Not a direct quote blah blah..wine dark sea is fucking good!
There is this revolutionary idea I have had that nobody needs to comment on a video if they only despise it...You can do this amazing thing called not commenting and finding something to watch that you do like........That all being said, this woman is an excellent songwriter and poet and her performances are always varied a little, because they are PERFORMANCES and she is an artist. Respect where rsepect is due. Love her music.
This is great, kicking myself that I failed to catch any gigs in the UK so far

I think she will be in the UK januari 2017.
the 2nd song catches serious fire. harmonies and guitar are ace.
eternal indeed
So pure rough and honnest and risky and perfect
She sounds like she's perpetually impersonating Christopher Walken

It's a shame b/c she actually has an amazing voice. Listen to her 1st 3 albums - on those her singing flirts with jazz, with lots of ghost notes and semi-tones (or whatever they're called). I'm not sure what prompted her to changer her style...but check out the recorded versions of 'Sascha,' 'All the morning birds,' and 'Mexican Blue'

+Austin Wallace My guess is that Indie hipster-dom caused this. The movements defining characteristic is an across the board shitty aesthetic applied with conscious effort. I don't know how else to state it.

Her voice will sound difference depending on different performances and her mood, etc. That's called being a human being and an artist...Something some find difficult to comprehend. Jolie's work, lyrically, is pure poetry, and trust me, the woman herself could completely care less about your hateful comment...She would probably just say "alright. Thanks for that" and then walk away in peace.
Christopher with a crying heart, oh my, Natalie
i dont listen to alot of current music, but i really enjoyed that!!!
Wait a second, this was 9 years ago!?
+ sharks!!!!!
big fan...i saw her back in like 2006 or somewhere around that time in seattle....i think she might be on drugs now or something. escondida is still an amazing album...we all change and go through shit

MichaelKingsfordGray just to blow your mind for a second, I’m one of the rare few who does see caffeine as a drug and only drink black tea once in a while when I have a headache. But in our western culture and language, no one who describes a famous musician as being “on drugs” is referring to a caffeine addiction. It just doesn’t happen. You can be smart AND reasonable.

MichaelKingsfordGray my final sentiment is: let’s not make assumptions about other people’s drug use based on musical performances or KZread commentary. You and the OP are guilty of this and you come off like a zealot.
Who's the girl making the second voice? I think I'm in love.

It's Indigo Street.
I can't understand what she's saying.
wasnt she in Seinfeld?
I've been a big fan since her 1st solo record, and I've always loved her delivery. The songs here are really solid and she's clearly assembled an ace band, but I can't get away from feeling Jolie's weirdly contorted, eliding, unintelligible delivery of the lyrics (I could always understand the words before) belies an insecurity in the lyrical content. I'd be happy to be wrong. Not a huge deal - the songs are still good - just thought I'd mention it. In any case, big fan still and always.

Mitch Pendleton I disagree. If your familiar with tori Amos she does a similar technique of bending vowels to create a whole other layer of music
Her approach is interesting. But all for nothing with such a character.
Loved her first few CDs but I have no idea WTF she is doing on this CD. Was hoping seeing her do some songs live on KZread would give me a better sense. But it just isn't working for me. Great backup band though.

Sean Bearly I Saw jolie at green note. Shepherds bush london last year. As I was excited to see her live , after listening to prior albums. People were walking aout after 3 songs. I lasted 6 songs in, as the band drowned her out 🤔i go to a lot of concerts & this was the first i had to leave
