from a psychological standpoint her “rebrand” is understandable (for lack of a better term) Jojo was pretty much made to be a child until she was way past childhood and this is the equivalent of a “middle school edgelord” phase. in regards to the allegations the most i could relate it to is just the unfortunately common outcome of growing up in abusive or toxic environments, aka becoming the abusive one. i could be quite wrong perhaps.

I live with PTSD and have done shitty things too, but truly, if all of those allegations are true, I feel incredibly disgusted by her. She’s old enough, and had been old enough, to know better. I don’t think she’s irredeemable or anything, but when people do shitty things to children my thoughts don’t usually go to empathizing with them more just because they went through shit. I think some people are tearing her down for the wrong reasons (just because they are hateful), but it’s very understandable for people to dislike her when she allegedly exploited and abused a kid and defended people like Colleen.

I recently learned that Jojo didn't even write Karma and it was originally written by Britt Smith in 2011, but she never released it and Miley Cyrus took the song in 2012 before she decided she didn't want it anymore. Not really sure why she marketed it as her own work.

I had an exploded disc in my spine repaired and even that surgery was awful. I can't imagine the pain of having operable spina bifida repaired. It took me MONTHS of recovery just to be able to walk around my house, and weeks just to be able to get out of bed without the pain making me see stars. Making a little child DANCE after a few weeks of recovery? Sinister. Absolutely sinister.

Exactly she was maturing with her audience. Soft glam makeup line, preteen-teen trendy clothes, and truthfully a dance studio would have been great. Training young dancers who want to break into the industry. There was a better way of doing this, this is just cringe.

You are not wrong at all. These individuals' parents and agents and entourages do not have their best interest in mind at all. Sure, it is normal to grow up and not want to be seen as a kid, but I don't know who tells them all to go the route of obscene or envelope pushing or whatever other term is used. It rarely ever comes across as genuine and always looks so manufactured and like its done for shock value rather than authenticity. And I always have such mixed feelings on when they get flak and they're criticized for behaving in such a way that is not a positive role model for children. On the one hand, again, you're allowed to grow up and mature and move away from that image. On the other hand, to be fair, you were just wearing rainbow colored sneakers and singing Kidz Bop 2 months ago. Forgive people for the whiplash.
