The one we have is from Duluth, but I’ve heard they also sell them at the larger hardware stores. :) It’s worked out great for us for several years now.

New subscriber here. Awesome video, started beekeeping this year. Back in late April. Since then, I’m up to 3 hives, 3rd came from a removal job I did, marked two queens, one being a new queen I gave to the removal job hive. So I’ve got almost the full spectrum so far. Still have to harvest honey and rear some queens, and make a split, then I’ll feel like a full on beekeeper. So far so good. I’m hooked for sure.

That’s awesome! Sounds like you’re off to a great start! Thank you for watching. Hopefully it wasn’t too made with my shaky camera work. Glad to have you as a new subscriber. Let us know if you have any questions or any specific videos you’d like to see.

Great video for me as a new beekeeper! Learned a lot and love the relaxed way you did the inspection, I have a lot to learn about that yet. I get uptight and still haven't checked every frame in the brood box after a year. One thing I discovered when I opened the brood box was the comb was built up and the bottoms were crooked, getting frames out was pretty difficult so I only took 3 out. They were full nectar, pollen and the one nearest the middle had lots of brood. Is it ok to leave it as is? Thanks

It’s not always so relaxed! We do try to stay as calm as possible though. If the comb is what’s keeping you from conducting a thorough inspection, I would definitely say to fix it. You always want to be able to check all of your frames. You may not check them all the time, but you should be able to in case you see something amiss.

@@RascalApiary Wasn't sure about the brood boxes being inspected much, thank you for clearing that up. It will be a big job but someone has to do it and that's me so will start preparing for it. Want to make sure I am not in there any longer than I have to be, but it will be a long time I know that. Will let you know how it goes!

We’d definitely love to hear how it goes. Don’t be afraid to smoke them. You can assume that they’ll be a little more on edge since you’ll be messing with their hard work. Just try to stay calm and work as fast as you safely can.
