Johnny is looking GREAT! Wow, he’s really got into shape! Johnny is awesome. About 10 years ago, I was talking to him on his Facebook. It was my birthday and he had me give him my number and said he’d call me. No shit, he called me and we chatted for a long time. I couldn’t believe it. Super cool guy.

1.) That ceiling fan is awesome. 2.) Johnny Rod seems like a great guy - but exhausting. 3.) He’s a terrific bass player. 4.) Inside the Electric Circus and The Headless Children were the last WASP records I bought. Both were better than The Last Command but can’t touch the debut album. 5.) He seems smart and talented, so I’m guessing he was a really good paramedic who had taken the job seriously..

Ready to Strike is one of the most criminally underrated records of all time. Killer songs, killer guitar work from David "Michael Phillips" Henzerling and Mick Sweda, killer drums from Carmine Appice, killer vocals from Mark (now Marcie) Free, and of course, killer thunderous bass of Johnny Rod! That record definitely deserves more praise than it has gotten over the years. A huge influence on me as a musican, personally, as well.

Seems like a great guy. As a bassist I think his tone & playing is great. Loved King Kobra & wasp with him on bass. I’m from Buffalo N.Y I think mick Sweda is from my neck of the woods. Great job on the interviews you get some great musicians on.

Great interiew!! Always great to see Rod tell stories!! .... Jason Green, why did you skipped the Crimson Idol part? Mentioned all the albums and tours but went from Headless Children to King Cobra reunion. We wanna know about the Crimson Idol Tour with Donington as highlight I guess:-) Dont get me wrong, the interview was great!!! Cheers from Holland

Johnny lives in St.Louis MO. & i live in Granite City ILL which is only 15 minutes from down town St.Louis. I had the honor of hangin with Johnny one evening a couple years ago when Enuff Z Nuff did a free show here in Granite. That night....was a freakin blast!!

I wonder how well he knows Baz, I knew Sebastian when he moved from Peterborough to Toronto and joined herrenvolk, then after that KidWikkid at Larry's hideaway on college st. Awesome time in music, and being young, you can't replace that man!

I met Johnny outside the manchester apollo in the UK on the electric circus tour '86 or '87 and he was the only member of w.a.s.p who met the fans after the gig. He was a star then and the guy is still a star now. The headless children album is one of the best album's w.a.s.p ever made and they were never the same again without Chris and Johnny.
