I'm so sorry for your loss WuCurdy, that was a beautiful parting song, even though you didn't know it at the time. I lost my brother to drowning, I can picture he and I singing this, he was an avid fisherman & a powerful singer. Wishing you comfort & solace.

I dont think I've ever heard a more beautiful pairing of voice talent. Johnny's voice seems very grounded, while Laura's is more whimsical. They compliment each other perfectly.

I came here to find his music after hearing him in Emma as well. I knew when I heard him sing in the movie, with that voice and range he just HAD to be a musician 🎸 So beautiful, haunting at times, bit jaunty at others - but seriously just damn good!!! 👌 Forever a fan of JF now.

The Screen Time because, contrary to what the media would have us believe, people are basically pretty nice, and like to show their gratitude that someone has gone to the effort of transcribing the lyrics.

In my opinion this song might be as close to perfection as it's possible to get. The harmonies are truly haunting. For me this is 'the' version.

I am overwhelmed by the amount of beauty there is in this world.

I fell in love with him at "Emma" and started googling about him. This song is the first videos of him that I watched after Emma, and I fall in love with him again everytime I listen to this song.

My brother drowned nearly 3 years ago and listening this song filling my eyes with tears and my heart with grief, that's why this beautiful song has a very special meaning for me. 🌿

This song is a mystery for me, I came upon it while walking in the Camino of Santiago. A couple of enthusiastic girls sang it and played it in a ukulele as they walked. It felt right to be singing this tune while examining nature and oneself. Water isn't being created, nor destroyed, only transformed. The idea of change was hope while walking. To all of you out there, "Buen Camino!"

I found this song by watching a sweet knitted frog frolicking by a creek on tiktok and now I'm a fan. What a breathtakingly sad, hopeful, beautiful song! It has the sound and the soul of a pre-war song -- in fact, I was expecting to find an artist who died decades ago.

This will be my future child's lullaby. So melancholic, hopeful and tender.

I've been listening to this for 10 years and it never loses it's magic

It's funny, I like the simplicity of this performance much more than the actual album version. I feel like here the lyrics resonate so much more.

I've been a Marling fan since day one, but this duet is a wonderful revelation to me. Exquisite!!!

Currently listening to this in lockdown, it's so beautiful.... And it helps me sleep at night right now :) I'm grateful because I have my family and a roof over my head but at the same time I miss my friends so much. The days seem to just be merging into one big day, hopefully this is all over soon. Sending love and prayers to everyone

The HUMAN SPIRIT is like Water.Evil is trying to plug a spout with a single stubborn inhuman hand and WATER burrows many more places to emerge from the ground up.

Why do we not hear more of this kind of stuff in the mainstream charts, and therefore on the radios etc? These two have got more natural raw talent than pretty much everyone currently in the so called top 100 charts combined!

...I agree. Pandora's Box when trying to fathom the actions of the music industry...I think we know the main factors at play though. Interesting he's playing a doblo for an English 'folk' song. just goes to show you that British (including Irish) folk songs and Bluegrass are one and the same.

Between the two voices there are some parallel fifths which are simply FANTASTIC, I loved this version since the first notes... *___*
