Cry In Shame Lyrics:
Pickin' up the pieces
Up off the floor
How was I to know
There was gonna be a war
Words of sorrow
And words of spite
Ringin' in my head
Right through the night
Don't you know it's a cryin' shame
When you've got yourself to blame
Don't you know it's a cryin' shame
Ohhhhhhhh
Woke up this mornin'
It's a rainin' again
Startin' to wonder
If it's somethin' I said
Words of sorrow
And words of spite
Ringin' in my head
Right through the night
Don't you know it's a cryin' shame
When you've got yourself to blame
Don't you know it's a cryin' shame
You've got yourself to blame
Cry cry cry cryin' shame
Cry cry cry
Cry cry cry cryin' shame
Cry cry cry cryin' shame
Up all night
With a conscience fight
I just can't sleep
So I put on the light
The sheets are wet
With anxiety sweat
Mornin's gonna come
But it ain't here yet
Don't you know it's a cryin' shame
When you've got yourself to blame
Don't you know it's a cryin' shame
You've got yourself
Don't you know it's a cryin' shame (it's a cryin' shame)
When you've got yourself to blame
Don't you know it's a cryin' shame
You've got yourself to blame
You've got yourself to blame
You've got yourself to blame
You've got yourself to blame
You've got yourself to blame
About Johnny Diesel & The Injectors:
Formed by American-born guitarist/vocalist Johnny Diesel (born: Mark Lizotte), while he was living in Perth, Australia, Johnny Diesel and the Injectors became one of Australia's best pub rock bands of the late-1980s. Their hits included such roots-oriented tunes as "Come To Me", "Tip of My Tongue", "Man Alive" and "Never Miss Your Water". Their self-titled debut album, recorded in Memphis, Tennessee and released in March 1999, received ARIA (Australia's equivalent of the Grammys) awards as "best new talent" and for "best selling album of the year".

I heard 'Justin' and 'Theo' from 'Home & Away' sing this and thought it was brilliant but listening to it now with the Saxophone playing is even better!

Although if memory serves, Barnesy is Scottish, so not strictly 100% Aussie either haha; Bon Scott too.... Scottish people must really love coming to live in a country where the sun actually has a chance of shining more than one or two times a year....

He was the lead singer/guitarist for a band called Johnny Diesel and the Injectors back in the 80s/early 90s. Had a great solo career and played guitar on many tracks for his little known 😉 brother-in-law Jimmy Barnes and great mate the wonderful John Farnham 👌❤ If you google on KZread When something is wrong with my baby by Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham you will see him playing in the background. He also played on Jimmy Barnes and Tina Turner's rendition of Simply the best. My other 2 favs of Diesel are Miss your water and Tip of my tongue.

The title says 'Cry In Shame', but he sings "cryin' shame'. Sounds like two different things to me. But cool tune though.
