No, he's American. He was born in Kentucky and lived in Florida when he was a teen. He's lived in France for awhile now with his family, though.

Yes it is interesting, for some actors it is much easier to play a role then it is to talk without knowing what is coming at them. Now I have seen alot of his movies and interviews and it really can vary when it comes to the interviews but over all by nature he seems rather reserved. Just a suggestion but if you want to see a very good example of actor nervousness check out the older movie "Who am I this time?" starring Christopher Walken and Susan Sarandon.
