Good answer… Johnny Cash may have tinkered around on the ukulele but he certainly was more of a guitar player as far as I know. Somewhere out there I’ll bet someone is photo shopped a ukulele it into a Johnny Cash picture… That would be funny to see ha ha 😉🎶 be well & happy playing!

I teach ukulele once a week as a volunteer at our elementary school. I have one student who evidently has been exposed to drumming, and is good at it. I have been trying to reach him in our class, but he has periods of engaged and " I can't do it". This lesson has given me a fantastic idea for a fresh and engaging approach. I think he will buy in - thanks!

Hi Stu. Waiting for my Uke arriving on the 29th. Still 8 days to go and I know what I will be trying first, your video. Really inspired. Thank you,
Hey Stu! Fine lesson. I tried the Luther Perkins' dollar trick but had to use a five spot as we Canadians use coins instead of bills in denominations of 1 and 2. But, in spite of being worth only $4 in US currency, the Canuck five spot had quite decent tone.
@UkuleleZen

Neat! Sticking coins in the rungs would be quite a sound - especially on steel strings. Guess up in Canada the Johnny Cash trick costs at least a $5 note? Be well, Stu

Temperature also effects the strings. Heat softens the material causing strings to be more plyablen cold tightens the strings causing them to tightening and more easily breaking. (Do not leave you uke in the car or uncontrolled temperature changes).
