I found this song after watching Dark Star after watching Jodorowsky's Dune after reading Herbert's Dune after watching David Lynch's Dune. The Internet is a wonderful thing.

Wow, that’s an epic way to go…if I could go under any circumstances imaginable I’d be in Turkey on a mission trip when the anti Christ appears and tells all to bow to him. When I refuse he burns me at the stake but angels minister to me and prevent any pain from the fire as I watch my body disintegrate to ashes and my soul to heavenly glory.

@@seshwondo376 That is another good one. I was going for comedic effect, clearly, but epic glory has something to say for it. Another would be to be the first to land on Mars, tend a garden under a dome and get a small ecosystem going, and allow my remains to fertilize it for the next group to arrive in a few years' time. And then there's the old joke in which three young men offer bold and glorious deaths like flying to Germany and assassinating Hitler, and then the last in the group, a very old man, sighs and says he'd like to be shot by a jealous husband. Which brings us back to the punchline sort of answers....

My father grew up in and near Benson, AZ, a town known mainly for its railroad, the Horseshoe Café, and a Dairy Queen that was closed during the "cold, cold" winters. 😆 Growing up, I spent many summers there and in nearby St. David. I was amazed when I heard the intro to "Dark Star," a movie that just happened to air to a disinterested audience in my living room several months ago. I've been listening to this song on occasion ever since....
