That's why I didn't like these movies. In real life the first time ninja Gaiden there took his back that blade would be spot into his spine. Movies may be entertaining but typically they are really dumb, illogical and require you to forget the actual world and everything you know to enjoy it. If you really want the impossible challenge....only watch movies that are realistic and don't require a suspension of reality.

I feel like when it comes to armed weapon combat (or anything that can be used as a weapon in hands) he’s a professional at. But when in hand to hand combat it’s mostly defense or quick altercation. Most of the time he gets his ass beat down but never actually throws hands or deal a offensive blow. So whenever he finds something he can use as a weapon, the battle is over for his opponents but if it’s throwing hands. He’s mostly trying to find a way out.

Tired of people coming to these clips to talk about how badly John is fighting here. For context John has been fighting and running this entire movie since he's ex-communicano. And you know what else? the timeline of John Wick movies is like so: John Wick 1- one week later- John Wick 2- Immediately after- John Wick3 Meaning the dude has been fighting and running around for two whole movies. He doesn't get any time to heal or rest. Its just non stop. He also had to take on two very skilled fighters just before this fight. It's a bit insane to see that folks refuse to acknowledge this. After this fricken fight, he ends up battling heavily armed soldiers of the high table with his friend Wilson. Needless to say, John totally deserves the right to be tired.

@@MenachemSchmuel Respect given is respect earned. The world of John Wick is clearly not reality as we know it. I mean have you noticed there are next to no police or swat threats in this movie? Its never even a passing thought. Then theres John. An entity that is constantly taking damage, running around, doing intense kills and still manages to have the energy to proceed to the very next fight. 3 movies worth of fights that span canonically between week 1 and 2. No one has the ability to do that. The honor system of killers is the least unrealistic thing about the series. John is feared, respected and creates levels of jealousy among killers. He has plenty of fans and critics that want to prove something. John is always given the opportunity to use his skills to turn the tide in an engagement. The killers rarely attempt to kill John from afar. Its weird but that's how people work in this.

Full disclosure: this is all speculation on my part. I think there’s a certain code of conduct…uhhh, fairness, if you will, that is expected when youre not trying to kill someone as a kill contract. When youre trying to kill someone in a straight up fight, youre expected to shoot or stab your opponent from the front. With the bald assassin, Zero, he wants to defeat John in all his present capability because he’s such a fan. For John, however, he’s just trying to defeat anyone he cant dissuade from fighting him. But, he still wants to be out, deep down, he’s still a man who was loved by his wife and wants to cling to that part of himself and in so doing cling to the memory of his wife. Thus, he is giving everybody who approaches him the chance to walk away because he is done with that life. In John’s case, i think there’s a drastic reluctance to kill, but, from his perspective, every opponent who steps forth gives him no choice. Here, in this fight, Zero attempts to re-engage after John stabs him twice and cuts him once. However, he realizes he is mostly disabled and bleeding out. John turns the blade a little, implicitly saying something to the effect of, without words, “you are defeated. Surrender or walk away and you will live. Attack and you will die.” Zero gives a slightly defeated look with his head tilting to the side and then clenching his remaining unimpaired hand into a fist. This, implicitly saying without words something to the effect of, “im under contract to kill you. I have to keep fighting.” At which point, Zero makes his last stand against John and is defeated.

Tang Lung breaks Colt's limbs and gives him a chance to walk away because the fight is obviously done. However, Colt gives him a look that's basically saying "I can't just walk", makes a final stand, and Tang Lung kills him with great regret and sorrow. Modern stuff like John Wicks fight here is so slow that makes it even more unrealistic than the older over the top films because it's too easily telegraphed , you need momentum and raw intensity in attacks and defenses or else it's not believable enough nor exciting , the moves/coreography are dull and uncreative.

Dont take me bad, I love these movies very much, but... I always find hilarious how getting the knife immediately makes you weaker instead of stronger. they hit more each other with bare hands, the minute they get the knife the accuracy drops and the enemy defenses have a buff.

Ahh Hollywood martial arts, everyone is impervious to the pains that a lot of those moves would inflict, the attack John puts on his opponents arms, would render them useless as it takes very little force to break the arm at the elbow with strikes like that

The Best thing of Keanu Reeves who played "Jhon wick" is he didnt played the role like a action hero. He played it like a Person who was a assasin but came back after 5 year and got rusty and Keanu played that little weak and vaulnrable which makes him more like normal human who get beaten up too and he played that part very convincingly...

Zero didn't instantly kill Wick because he knows he is dog tired after killing a dozen bullet proof Armored assassins and even beat four of the ninja students. So it's not a fair fight. Zero idolized Wick and even tried many times to assert that they are similar, so he wanted a fair and longer fight. Anyone who says Wick was lucky can suck it. He fought professional big timers while probably at 50% of his capacity only, and they decided to fight him at slightly even odds because they're extremely professional.
