A crazy easter egg about the fight in the library: The Book is a slavic tale similar to David VS. Goliath. As we know Goliath tried to defeat David with strength but at the end David defeats Goliath with knowledge. Ernest makes the mistake to try to kill John with strength but at the end John killed Ernest with a book (what is actually knowledge)

A tactical reason to the wear the watch inverted is that on a long range shooting situation, reflection on the watch's face can give away your position, which doesn't happen if you are concealing your watch like john does. it's a classic military tactic, additionally its another reason why "tactical" watches are fully black, no reflection.

The revolver scene is a tribute to the classic western 'The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly', in which the 'Ugly' character Tuco enters a gun shop, and starts cannibalizing all the revolvers to make his perfect gun. It's almost an exact replica of that scene, only sped up considerably.

From being in the military for 4 years now we are always told to wear a watch with the face towards the palm for two reasons, one so when you are shouldering your weapon system you can constantly keep an eye on the time while continuing to pull security. Two a watch if hit by the sun can cause a glint and reveal your position too others and could possibly get you killed, therfore you wear it on the inside so that doesn't happen.

6:15 Yup. Never underestimate the power of a good book. 15:20 John Wick might not know ballet, but a scene prior to this showed some guys practicing sambo. It's a Russian martial art, and its more advanced practitioners (such as those in the Russian army and Spetznatz) are trained to make the most of what they can get and use in the environment. Which fits John Wick's style. 18:30 Halle Berry trained with the dogs used in the film (there were actually five of them) for months before filming, so she, rather than a trainer off-screen, would be the one to give them commands. It worked, and the work put in shows, because none of the dogs shown in the movie were CGI. 20:20 Was wondering how long it would take to recognize those two. 21:30 The action scenes with the dogs were shot in Morocco, which is also called "the city of cats," with good reason. Despite the crew's best efforts to keep cats away, filming often stopped because at least one of the dogs would ignore what they were supposed to do, to chase a cat that suddenly appeared on set. 22:25 The dogs used are Belgian malinois, the same kind of breed used by the United States Secret Service to protect the US President. They're high energy dogs that need a job to do, and it's likely that at least two of them were hanging around the area of 10 Downing Street when Trump did a state visit to the UK some years back, since I believe they are deployed in pairs during protection duty. (Larry the Cat, for his part, didn't give a sh*t and sat under the Beast. Which is typical cat, of course.) 29:25 This scene was improvised by Mark Dacasos (Zero). Keanu and the director decided to roll with it. 39:08 I woudn't be surprised if they used this as an excuse for John Wick to slow down somewhat in the next movies. Keanu Reeves is, after all, almost 60 years old. Great reaction!

Winston had something in mind, he aimed to the body (knowing Johns suit is bulletproof), not to the head, but John wasn't aware. It was a very risky thing and a matter of very much luck his surviving (ok, let's say a little bit plot armor). Btw, i think if those 2 Shinobi would turn into animals, they would likely be those 2 dogs, they are like the human version of them...and vice-versa, those 2 malionois are the canine version of those 2 guys.

It was a plan B but John Wick wasnt in on it. Winston knew he couldn't beat the table but needed to prove to them he was formidable and worth keeping around - Shooting Wick off the roof was a win win for him cause 1. He proves his loyalty to the table and 2. He awakens Baba Yaga to annihilate the table and likely die in the effort leaving a power vacuum for him to step into and rule the Underworld. That's right, until now we've only seen what John Wick is like upset and not his Monster mode Baba Yaga.

Mark Decascos was the guy who idolized John and he is a super legit martial artist. Karate, Kung Fu, etc champion. He did a documentary on the most famous Samurai in history about 10 or so years ago, Miyamoto Musashi. It's great. I met him once by chance at a gym I was training in and he is one of the nicest dudes ever. That gym I won't name has trained MANY UFC, etc champs over the years. Many students opened their own gyms. Most headquartered around the area. I sparred with Randy Couture at one of them but my original gym is where my heart is. I actually dated Randy's niece in school.

Only if there are some really dangerous stunts, he uses stunt doubles but he says he tries to do as much as he can, as long as they let him do it. He also trained with the LA SWAT- Team, who taught him how to properly handle real guns and hand to hand combat fighting. He also learned Judo & Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for these movies.

It not just bullet proof vest those assault unit guys are wearing it bullet proof body armour, the same material that is made inside his suit Also there is a rumour among fans that Winston betrayal was a act, that if he really betrayed John and tried to kill him he would have shot him in teh head instead of the suit and fake his allegiance to the High table, where he could then later help John. This theory is strengthened by the fact that at the end of the second movie Winston gave John a marker

The guy who was watching this with me paused on him building the gun to explain that when guns are out on display in museums their pieces are taken apart and mixed together into the different guns so none of them will work unless you take all of them apart and put the correct pieces together. Parabellum is a type of handgun ammunition. There are two types of Parabellum: .9mm, and 7.65x21mm. They are more powerful than the silly .22mm, but less powerful than .40 S&W or .45mm. The advantage of using a .9mm is that there is less recoil, so if someone is mowing down people quickly (like John Wick) there is less time that you need to come back on target. Because the larger caliber, there is more of a kick causing the gun to move upwards. Plus there are some fantastic KZread videos about how much Keanu trained with firearms and jujitsu. Amazing.

4:25 actually, they wear the watch in that way cuz of a special reason. The glass reflects light and during stealth missions, reflected light might reveal your position to the hostile soldiers. So they wear the watch like that so that they can watch the time while holding the gun and it won't reflect light aswell.

Another thing that I'm not seeing anybody else in the comments section cover [from the comments I read anywy], is the fact that John Wick is a U.S. Marine, evident in not only the tattoos on his back, but also the way he shoots some of his enemies. If you notice, he sometimes gives them 2 to the chest, 1 to the head; sometimes actually shooting shoulder, shoulder, head. This is how we Marines are trained to shoot in combat training with both handguns and rifles. This would also explain John Wick's other tactical attributes (ie the way his watch is set, his unbelievable endurance and stamina, creativity, etc.)

The attack dogs, they were Halle Berry's real dogs that she owns and trained, with help from Andrew Simpson (wolf trainer from Game of Thrones). Were they filmed, they have wild cats running all around the city and the dogs wanted to chase the cats while filming, ha. It drove the director crazy, finally having about 12 guys go around and get all the cats they could find and remove them from the set, then more would come in a few mins later, ha.

The watch under the arm is a miltary style way of wearing it. While holding something like a gun or rifle you know the time. If your waiting for window of opportunity or counting seconds you don't have to turn your wirst and its saves you one full second when checking time. Less motions you have to go through. If you have a nice watch less likely to get the face scratched since it up aginst your body. Its more common for people wearing classic watches, Rolex etc.

Meh, unless you're literally a soldier in battle, it doesn't make sense. And most soldiers don't even do it.
