Seeing Pink Flamingos at the local art house theater was kind of a rite of passage when I was in college.

Once he visited our local art museum. I waited in a long line and I got him to sign my Pink Flamingos VHS with three different colors of Sharpie that I taped together. He looked at the mass of Sharpies and said something I bet he rarely ever said: "Wow, I've never seen THAT before".

John is one of those cryptic Hollywood figures you thought had passed away a few years ago, apropos of nothing, but you could just swear he wasn't long for this world And then POOF! He pops up like the bogeyman and reminds us all that he's still freaky and kicking, too weird to live but too rare to die

John Water’s flick, “A Dirty Shame” helped me understand why my personality changed so quickly and dramatically after getting a traumatic brain injury. Because when Tracey Ullman’s character Sylvia sustained a head injury she became a nymphomaniac, a sex friend, a lover of the flesh. Now because that movie I understand there are many more like myself hiding in plain site. Which is a good thing. ;)
