“To me beauty is looks that you can never forget, and I’ve walked down the street with Divine and seen car accidents happen.” 😂 love this man
"Beauty is looks that you can never forget". I need to remember that one.
They showed Pink Flamingos at my college and I've been a John Waters fan ever since. RIP Divine.
John has aged into a national treasure. Sad that Divine could not.
John Waters and Divine! John is a legend! RIP Divine ❤
I wish I could’ve experienced theatres back in the late 80s early 90s. John brings cinema alive just like David Lynch one of his heroes
The one and only John Waters. As for Divine? Need more be said? Damn glad they came along. The wild part in all of us owe them a heart-felt thanks.

Same! I remember how awed I was when I experienced it. And it still kills me.
Hopefully Letterman continues to upload all his best content to his channel. I miss his daily shows.

Divine had just performed the song "Born To Be Cheap" right before the interview. Divine's probably still trying to catch their breath.

gone to soon miss you Divine.. you were the best...
Oh snap! Devine is an icon. John is like my creepy uncle that I idolize.
John waters the 🐐
It's Ursula!
Divine is who was the inspiration for Ursula in The Little Mermaid
He looks so much like Robert Crumb.

Thank you - I've been trying to spot that for years! Bingo. 👍
John’s dad doesn’t look any older than him in that picture
I would want financial success for Waters, and hoped Divine had every success that was deserving. BUT, if their movies forever stayed underground, that's fine by me. The whole of the Dreamlanders landscape is actually TOO good for the great unwashed. I will bask in these movies and love them forever! Divine, you are SORELY, sorely missed.
I’ve never seen Pink Flamingo and now after watching the special on the CBS Sunday Morning show, I’m really curious on where I could watch the film. Does anyone know how to watch this film? ❤✌🏼🥰

don't see why the blue and gold label. makes me think boring sell-out CBS days. since I knew Divine's passing, it occurred to me this would be early NBC. eleven thirty central time, I was in Omaha then. old. season one, no band yet Andy Kaufman slap times
For my money, the titans of TV are Lorne Michaels and Dave Letterman. So original, so timeless, ‘70s SNL and ‘80s Late Night still hold up, still seem original. Most TV seems BS comparatively.
Is Divine the one who had a literal skeleton in her closet? Didn’t she kill a man or am I thinking of someone else?

Straight audiences didn't know what to do with them
I knew there would be some 'innocent' misgendering when I clicked play 👀
Letterman was the worst possible choice to interview these two hilarious and edgy artists. He always seemed uncomfortable around any men who were even remotely effeminate or different, and his fratboy comedy style always mocked these kinds of people, as if he and all other "regular" folk were laughing at them behind their backs.
Puke? In today's world, his movies are vanilla.
Now a days we would have to say She
