John Walker Helps Sam and Bucky Fight the Flag-Smashers [No BGM] | The Falcon and the Winter Soldier

As the Flag-Smashers get ready to leave in two trucks, Falcon sees a person inside who might be a hostage. He and Bucky chase the truck, and Bucky jumps on the first truck and meets the supposed hostage. She is actually Karli Morgenthau, the leader of the Flag-Smashers, and she attacks Bucky with super strength. Then she puts on the mask and joins the fight on the second truck's roof.
Falcon’s drone, Redwing, tries to help, but Karli destroys it. Falcon flies down and kicks Karli, but she fights back. More Flag-Smashers come from the other truck and join the battle. Sam is overpowered, but then Captain America arrives by helicopter, hits Karli with the shield, and jumps down while Lemar swings down on a line.
They introduce themselves to Falcon and Bucky and realize that all the Flag-Smashers are Super Soldiers. The Flag-Smashers manage to escape and leave them behind. Sam and Bucky walk up the highway, and Bucky says they need to find out where the serum came from.

I think the main issue with John Walker is this: He wanted to be Captain America. Steve Rogers wanted to be a good man.

The serum adds more to what is already there.. physically and mentally. John Walker has an ego..cant accept failure, and is an angry man when his ego is hurt...

This is true, but the moniker and mantle of Captain America didn’t exist up until Steve Rogers. What I mean is, there were shoes to fill after they were vacated. So I don’t think it’s fair to judge John Walker’s character off of wanting to be Captain America necessarily. I mean who wouldn’t want to be. In the military. I’m 13 years army and people compete over smaller things.

@@Epyk4P Oh, I don't judge him for it. He was forced into an impossible situation and frankly, the constant rejection and ridicule of Captain America's two best friends probably didn't help his mentality about the whole thing.
The flagsmashers were lucky didn't have to face the Winter Soldier, they wouldn't stand a chance if they had to. Gonna be so interesting how MCU is going to power up Bucky in future because this version of him is just too nerfed up to be a part of something big.

@@spiderxparker_ Not even close, Winter Solider is a kill anybody that gets in his way soldier. He bodied the other super solider in civil war and his strength is double of bucky.He threw Cap shield at him and caused Steve to slide back at least 6 ft before stopping his shield in place. Winter solider feels no pain - Only mission report. The man is a trained assassin, every now and then he tries to come out. Catching the flag smasher blade and throwing it inches from their head. Later on in the show the Flag smashers throws a steel iron to kill Bucky. ( Winter Solider catches it) Watch the show and look how bucky fights. Winter Solider fights with no restraint. I argue only reason he was beaten by Cap, was because Cap reached Bucky.

Nah bruh he's gonna be in The Thunderbolts. Also its dope because he dosen't have to live up to Cap's Legacy anymore he can live up to his own as US Agent.
Freckles and The Flagsmashers were a big nothing burger.
Yaknow looking back at this scene, John Walker actually did really well with the shield and held his own against semi super soldiers. Makes the Dora Milage even more impressive with how they handled him later on.

Well yeah. They purposefully made Walker's suit look off so we'd be subconsciously against him.
When I see this all I think of now is watching Thor or Iron Man or Hulk. Take care of these guys would just be nothing lol.

In this whole series john walker was continiously demeaned, if both sam and bucky had welcomed him properly and guided him from start then the suitation would have be different. I dont know how this character was shown in comics but in this series the writer has done a lame job 😂
