After all these years i marvel the most at Steve Swallow playing that simple repeating bassline and playing every note with full attention and love. That is the mark of a true artist!

From the Album 'I Can See Your House From Here' (1994), a conjoint effort by John & Pat, albeit listed under Sco's discography, production/studio team as well. This was my very first exposure to Scofield's playing, I bought it back in '94, right after it came out. A great record.

John's, Pat's and Billy's solos are amongts the best I've heard in a single performance. Even Steve's groove is inspiring. I can only hope that they will hook up again in the future; this is what it's all about! ;) Thanks again for the post; this is a true gift for me.

Challenging doesn't have anything to do with whether something is good music. Now, I think this is good music, don't get me wrong. A modal tune is good if it sounds good, end of story. Giant Steps (a very challenging tune to play) is great because it sounds great, not because it is hard to play. /lecture over sorry :P
