@@user-fx7zc7iv3b The fact that his work is being shown, quite regularly, is testimony that he is being remembered. Observational comedy is one of my favorites. Unfortinately, to many people, if performers aren't seen on TV, they are soon forgetten about. I am glad YT is keeping them available.

It's because he had a very niche comedy style. A lot of yelling and 90% of his jokes were about food. He was very good at what he did but he only did the one thing (for the most part)

I truly wish I had heard of John while he was still alive. In addition to being a comedy genius he also had humanitarian values. "I'm standing up for all of us." When I watch these old videos I am torn between laughing hysterically and crying desperately. He could have helped us get through the chaotic terror we are experiencing now. The two we still have are Jim Gaffigan and Stephen Colbert. We'd better appreciate them while they are still amongst us.

I'm saying he "is such a great person" whenever I watch his videos, because he IS affecting me in the present tense. To me he still IS a great person whenever I watch his videos, because in his videos he was still alive. Too bad that for you he only "was" a great person and doesn't seem like a great person to you anymore just because he's dead. One's legacy can turn the person immortal you know.

I was feeling sorta cocky the last time I went to Home Depot. I got my items and went to check out. "May I have your phone number please ?" the man asked. I replied..."Sir, I"m not that kind of woman". Poor guy...he just stood there, dumbfounded. It was silly of me I know...but I always have a little fun wherever I go. On a flight one time, as we were entering the plane...the young man asked me "Is this for business or pleasure ?" I very calmly looked at him and said "Well, I don't know yet...what do you have in mind " We had a blast on that plane. Life is short...leave a few smiles along the way.

The consequence of living in a harsh political climate. Right now, at least in America, the youth who mostly determine what succeeds, is consumed by a lot of pent up anger and sadness. And it isn’t just youth, a lot of adults are sick of years of their government overlooking many political and societal problems. Until things like that get fixed, I doubt we’ll see another comedian like Pinette. I’m not saying I don’t want someone like him to come back, but I have my doubts they will anytime soon.

Yeah, we need comedians who will make us laugh about things that are funny instead of laughing about things that are so horrifying we need to laugh to avoid committing acts of violence. There's nothing funny about children being massacred in a school shooting. But there's plenty of comedy about gun owners, gun control, arming teachers, arming students and so on. Laugh or scream. Pinette was a gift to the world of comedy. He'd probably have a really great joke about being the biggest gift at the party, but I'm no comedian so I won't try. Pinette left the party too early. A lot of comedians that do dark humor seem to become angrier and angrier as they grow older until they just aren't funny anymore. I don't think that would have happened to Pinette, but unfortunately we'll never know. For what it's worth, I think it's silly to attack someone for expressing an opinion about something as subjective as what makes good comedy. We can disagree without resorting to insults.

So let me fully understand the reason for getting an extended warranty-the product is no good although it is new, engineered, and has a track record of some sort. If I buy it, and when it breaks (after the limited warranty expires), I can have it repaired or replace. Replacing it means getting another one that will fail.
