lets not mention the underwhelming fact that Petrucci put his name to an impulse response? He aint hitting all that on his endorsement record (I thought the JP2C should have had input gain and apparently so did he and Mesa talked him out of it...think about that...he didnt even get his signature amp his way....FROM PETRUCCI...he is underselling his OWN NAME in my opinion!!!) you would think he would come out of the gate with a whole new gain type in plugin form ...one that hasnt even been dreamed about before...THATS how fucking revolutionary his shit SHOULD be!!!!!!.....nope....push pull gain on the JP2C and impulse responses......there isnt a quick term for how angry\sad/disappointed this makes me...A\S/D...there you go....just invented a term for that disappointment you get when Petrucci does something kinda lame!!!! Instead of a long rant....just A\S/D

You really need to hear Dream Theater live to fully understand how much of a wall of sound Petrucci lays down with just one guitar. I saw them with Iron Maiden a while back, and Maiden was great, but Petrucci produced a bigger fuller sound with just one guitar than Maiden did with three guitars.

The JP2C has the older Cab Clone with a resistive load whereas the newer pedal has a reactive load. This makes playing the amp feel more like it would through a real speaker and may also give a more accurate amp tone though the line out when compared to the older resistive load.

You still need to dial in the amp. Think of an impulse response as a capture of a mic’d up cabinet (the mics used, cabinet speakers, mic positions, etc). Tone mostly comes from the cab/speakers and how they’re mic’d up so impulse responses make a huge difference. Most people say it’s about 80% of your tone.
