John Natalie Dominates the Field at Gatorback ATV National 2005

I can’t believe this disc still plays, I must’ve watched this one a hundred times. As a young rider, I always wanted to travel down south to Gatorback. Fast forward nearly two decades and we spent some time looking ahead to ATV racing’s return to Gatorback on last week’s podcast. Man, I love reliving these races of yesteryear so damn much! ‘05 was such a rad era because you had everyone really starting to figure out the production quads and I can’t get enough of watching JJ and Digger slaying it on those Z400s. A sign of the times: Kory Ellis looking iconic as ever, Laker Customs plastics could be spotted on nearly every YFZ, and nothing beat that White Brothers exhaust on Timmy Farr’s TRX. But how good was Natalie in ‘05? I would argue he was as dominant as anyone ever for a single season in our sport. Winning nearly every race he entered that season, Natalie tied Doug Gust’s record of 8 national event wins in one season en route to his first career Pro Class National Championship. He was in a league of his own. Enjoy Pro Moto 1 from the 2005 Gatorback ATV National and be sure to catch the latest episode of the Digging Deep ATVMX Podcast wherever podcast can be acquired or right here on our KZread channel.
