    For those of you wondering of the speech as seen in "A Beautiful Mind"- there are no speeches of the laureates during the prize ceremony. The laureate's speeches are held during the dinner party in the evening. During the prize ceremony there are only speeches from representatives of the different Nobel committees, as seen in this video.

    now the nobel prize ceremony includes music concert. I guess it has lost a lot of its credibility and has to get some from artists like Jamiroquai

  • @otgiggs

    @otgiggs

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@juliansandoval8022 Music has always been a part of the prize ceremony, but only classical music and then sometimes with song (but not with Jamiroquai ..., it's classical singers/opera singers). During the dinner in the evening there's also music and of various kinds, even modern like pop/ easy listening/jazz kind of music. I don't know if Jamiroquai has performed there but there's definitively a possibility that he could I can't see why though, because they often have performers with connection to Sweden, the laureates' countries or a certain theme of sort. But still .. yeah, possible. After the dinner there's dancing in the golden hall (gyllene salen) with live dance music of various kind. IIRC they do have Nobel music concert(s) in Stockholm on some of the days before or after december 10, when the prize ceremony is held, but that concert is not on that ceremony day. Types of music/artists? I don't know.

I was so inspired by movie "A beautiful mind" when I was a high school student, and now I am glad that I was able to combine game theory with another extremely interesting field of science - quantum mechanics.

    for someone who had problems with self esteem, randomly watching a film aka movie about this great man, has helped me believe, just do it, learn higher level maths, which i really enjoy, nothing is hard, it just takes small incremental steps, Mr Nash was a great guy,he looked so humble taking the prize, that just made me think, the film aka movie, was likely not far wrong from his portrayal of a quite and understated character he was, yet a genius, the world is less without him,

    12 - 11 years ago, I almost slipped. Noone knew what I battled because noone around me understood it. Part of the effects was the delusion that my eyesight was defective, I lived with that for almost 2 years, no treatment could be prescribed because my supposed problem could not be diagnosed as it was nonexistent; I would ace all visual acuity tests, but when it was time to study, letters and numbers would seem to float around. The more I read and learned about eye defects, the narrower I was able to class my fantom issue, finally I settled with astigmatism. I had no astimatism! However, I believed enough that I had it, and then I would go on to experience the symptoms as I had anticipated it! The brain is a delicate and sophisticated organ capable of many things, it can create an imaginary world and lock you (the architect) inside. I was lucky to have met one psychiatrist. She said the magical words that eventually set me free: "it is all in your MIND" I had to fight my mind inorder to disbelieve 2 years of accumulated beliefs. I fought and won. Guard your thoughts. Rest in peace Professor John Nash.

    RIP, just watched the beautiful mind upon hearing their pass... Nash equilibrium, I still remembered the first time I read this very idea from a game theory book. It's such a simple idea at first glance. Anyone's just responding according to self interests and there goes the equilibrium. However, the more applications I read, the more respect I had for his theory. A simple idea that could expand from/to different dimensions. Sometimes you can expect the result yet sometimes your eyes would pop out for the counter-intuitive conclusions.
