The publicity team behind this film did an awful job of promoting it. One of the best films ever and it's hardly known. Re-release it somehow because it deserves huge recognition. I mean if 'Gravity' can get such huge acclaim then Sunshine should get a 1,000 times more!

100% agreed. It's my absolute favourite and I recommend it to everyone I know when talking movies. The soundtrack gives me shivers whenever I hear it!

Movie takes a sharp left turn in the third act but, I won't lie, I was on the edge of my seat just about the entire time. Great music, acting (everyone gives a very strong performance), and premise.

one of my online friends showed me this movie. It's become one of my favorite movies and it's got such a great soundtrack, it's a shame that it's not a very well known movie because it's such a great movie.

***** , It's well known to those who knows and understands what a good and interesting movie is.. This even reminds me of "The Abyss" especially, the part where Cillian Murphy is facing against a majestic wall of fire.. That part of The Abyss, where Ed Harris is facing against a mysterious form of water.. Awesome! They can't even seem to figure out if they're dead or alive!

Psychologically flawless movie, a sleeper that far too many have overlooked, this soundtrack made me emotional

It's awesome how a good soundtrack can compliment a movie like crazy, especially sci-fi films. Fountain and Sunshine are brilliant examples for movies with insanely good soundtracks that make the movie so much better!!

Oooh how much I love this music and the movie, i am obsessed with it! Surface of the Sun is my healing, I listen to it when I am having a rough time and it makes it go all away, plus nothing beats sitting on the porch during a beautiful day and be listening to this song with headphones, it puts me at peace!

i think it's very underrated. i saw it in the cinema and it is the best place to see it. I have since got it on dvd. The music and the scenery, the atmosphere, the mood it creates, the calm, the tension, the wonder of the sun, ...it's all great.

My favourite sci fi film. Its very very rare to get film where the story, special effects and even music are so much bigger than the characters yet we get the actors realising this and still giving all; magnificent.

They need to do a 4k UHD release of this masterpiece! I am eagerly awaiting it

Love how you said this one time. So true. Zimmer has just used this song in Wonder Woman 1984. So perfectly used. The film actually isn’t as good as it could have been but zimmers use of this song literally saves the movie

The song is the soundtrack to a movie called Sunshine. It's a sci-fi movie set in a near future, where the sun is dying and a team of astronauts and experts are sent to space to deliver a nuclear bomb to create a star within a dying star. I can only recommend this masterpiece.

i love the boombastic version, I am always playing Surface of the Sun on piano, so this gives me a extra awesome beat to play it to and jam to!

Listening to this tune is like coming across a car crash where people die. It's sad and it's tragic but in a strange way it makes you happy just to be alive

I got Goosebumps and chills from 1:47. Tried hard not think of anything heroic, such as a noble sacrifice. Failed. Barely managed to escape weeping like a human child. :')

This expresses things that have happend in your life that you just can't express. It's a discovery of just who you really are, and the emotion to be felt from overcoming all the obstacles that have stood in your way and life. EPIC!

This song gives me chills, so profound!~

What struck me so deeply about this film is how it show's people going to such extreme desperate measures to try to live and at the same time so completely willing to give up their own lives to save all humanity.

Jesus, this is one awesome piece of music! Absolutely well done. Fantastic sound and magnifically arranged. Love the movie as well. A major fav and will share. Thank you so very much!

I showed this movie to a few friends that at first completely laughed off the premise of the movie, but then were completely captivated by the film. It is definitely one of those films where the plot is a little absurd, but the execution is so good that it makes you easily forget about that.

This is amazing, incredible epic. I love the fact that this can convey inspirational, triumphant and tragic scenes/feelings. I also feel like this should be played when we walk into work in the morning, ready to face another day :)

This movie is so awesome because it easily depicts the best and the worst of human beings.

Easily one of the best movies ever made.

When I heard the second version of this song by Newton called "Strobe" I thought that was amazing. But now hearing the original track, THIS IS AMAZING. Both songs have been done in perfection. And even though there technizally the same, there individually unique. 10/10

Sunshine is the utlimate science fiction movie. The music (classical of course) incredible. The story bigger than the actors. It has that quality of making you feel small

the first time i saw this movie was on my computer and i had headphones on. the first thing that hit me was how amazing the score was. its captivating. and on top of that the movie is awesome and the cast is great.

I love how there's countless artists who used that chord progression before.

What I really loved about their trip was that it’s all very symbolic of our lives. We’re all on that journey heading at speed to our demise. When a character said every time she dreams, she dreams of the surface of the sun it’s really her inevitable death she dreams about.

I remember hearing the original sunshine version not this one is The Walking Dead, and it made me go into a hesteria looking through old dvds for sunshine to find this song lol. Then I watched the movie cuz till this day its ahead of its time, and I think it will be for a long time. Stunning visual experince, amazing story, ear jizz music.

@Recon0003 I'm glad you liked it; honestly, I didn't get the movie, on the whole. Too many unexpected things were introduced at the end, which broke the continuity, giving it a "made-up-as-they-went" feel. The protagonists never felt really well-presented in such a way as to truly care about them, and the ending wasn't quite satisfying. A lot more could have been done with the actors, plot and special effects, and could have made a truly great film. As it was, it seemingly came and went.

Farcry 3 spoiler warning/minor (soundtrack/bgm) I really love this piece no matter how many different places it happens to appear! Am I alone in being happily shocked at the inclusion in farcry 3? There's a section during the player orientation/introduction where this piece is rendered that actually managed to create an emotional bond with the protagonist for me despite being a jaded veteran of the usual tricks... Anyone else?
