Outside the US and Canada, males/guys/fellas DO in fact care for and support each other. I mean sometimes. If that comes natural. As in: If they're friends. It's not really rocket science American males. If you like another male and if you slowly start gaining the trust and/or appreciation of said male, you might be becoming what we in the entire rest of the world call being actual FRIENDS. I know, pretty shocking, right.

This was the first mulaney interview I've seen where he didn't seem like he was performing. He just seemed like he was being a person. Refreshing.

I think that maybe, for people who have had troubled relationships with their parents, Stephen Colbert is one of those people you would wish is your father. He is funny as hell, super crass when he feels like it, but so very sincere. I wonder if John Mulaney feels this way, receiving this gift. What a great guy Stephen is.

These are my favorite type of interviews, you both like each other, continue to be naturally funny without pushing anything and it feels authentic. John was very touched by the medal too, that was awesome

My husband and I watched it with my then 20 year old daughter. It’s a fabulous movie, but the three of us were pretty uncomfortable at times … Funny story, I went to see Inherent Vice (Paul Thomas Anderson directed) with my 80 year old mom. There were some very uncomfortable moments in that movie too.

The Handmaiden… I’m still mad that this IMMACULATELY shot queer Asian film got snubbed at the Oscars. Do yourself a favour and go watch the trailer… and then go into it blind. Asian lesbians. Crimes. Revenge. Tenderness. Gorgeous cinematography and editing. What more can I say to convince you

I watched this movie by myself in a theatre and I blushed. I'd die if I had to watch it with anyone, even a partner.

I CANNOT IMAGINE WATCHING THE HANDMAIDEN FOR THE FIRST TIME WITH MY PARTNER'S MOM.

In just less than six minutes we get a whole lot of emotions...from the wickedly funny to the moving ending. A golden talkshow moment.

The Handmaiden (2016, Park Chan-wook) is an awesome film.

Heck, my husband and I were watching a movie with my in-laws that ended up just "very steamy" and we were both awkward as heck being with them. I can't imagine being alone with my father-in-law, curled up under a blanket with him, and suddenly a hardcore scene starts to play. That really shows how comfortable they both are around one another.

Congratulations John on all your recent positive achievements in your life. You exude happiness and look gorgeous! Love your cute mother-in-law stories!! I’ve watched your Baby J show several times already and love every minute!

I now NEED to know what sort of oral sex that Mulaney would describe as "off the charts" while doubling over laughing. This movie made an impact on this man.

If you like the handmaiden, I highly recommend the novel it’s based on, fingersmith. It’s set in Victorian England rather than early 20th century Korea, but it’s really good!

The movie Handmaiden is extremely good in its own right but personally I love the British mini series Fingersmith. Absolutely insanely good acting.

real talk tho, The Handmaiden is an excellent erotic thriller and everyone should see it, preferably alone, with the door locked. It's by the guy who made the original Oldboy, so you know it's good.

The colour of the medal's lanyard goes well with the colour scheme of John's outfit, and serves very well in place of a tie!

My favourite part of being married was my in-laws, and all my exes are from different cultural backgrounds so i got bawdy Scottish/Irish songs, fabulous Chinese cooking skills, and Portuguese sing-alongs (and the Korean drama thing too, oddly) from my ex mothers-in-law, and it totally made mating with their children a much better long-term experience once the baby-making petered out. :) You're winning at life, Baby J!

i had the same experience happen with The Handmaiden. My roommates in college and I were all film people and we thought we were just gonna watch a historical movie. we were incorrect 🤣its a great movie though!
