@@JakeFields92 maybe,😆 but i remember Mayer doesnt really remember most of his old songs, especially if the song is rarely played live (he forgot the lyrics & guitar parts of Somethings Missing on a show a couple of weeks ago), Over and Over was never even been released on a record (let alone a Live Record, like Where The Light is which houses In Your Atmosphere, another unreleased studio gem) and yet he still remembers a lot of the parts here

He said he had to go back and learn the helpless solo before this tour so i imagine it was all improvised.

“Over and Over” could have been one of those songs where the crowd would sing along to the chorus. It also sounds like something couples would walk down the aisle and get married to. It could’ve been a late 2000s hit.

Man needs to put this out.

hahaha Cory's frustration "COME ON DUDE JUST PUT A SECOND VERSE" is literally all of us!! Now that Columbia is out of the picture, do whatever you want John...including releasing this song in however way you want ;)

A 2022 updated version of this ,omg imagine😩 now I want this so bad , he can release an EP of his unreleased songs and it'll be better than most things out these days

Man that’s one of the most gorgeous solos I’ve heard him play. And it’s on a podcast too

I’m 99% sure he’s been banking this huge hit for years and this is all part of the early stages of a marketing plan. What a melody. Incredible.

Now that he doesn't have a record label, he can do what he likes, I hope this is his first release.

@@ok-es6vd He didn't renew his contract with record label Columbia records, so from now on he will release music as an independent artist, meaning he can do anything he wanted musically without a label getting in the way.

Holy f.., that unreleased song is pure beauty! Please release it!

It plays in the same key, same meter, and same tempo as I'm Gonna Find Another You. I feel like they could be mirror images of each other, imagining that they could have book-ended Continuum with this song acting as the first song in the album. Now I'm imagining how Pino Palladino and Steve Jordan would've added their magic to this track.

As far as I know he played this live one time. And I was there. Speaking appearance on Broadway in early 2005. He said this was gonna be his first single off his next album. And when he introduced the song that night ... he said he hadn’t figured out the bridge yet. He got there and it kinda came off the rails and he stopped and said he still had to finish it. I remember being so confused when it wasn’t on Continuum

Cory on rhythm at the end (on a whim) while John solos over it. What a legendary combination right there.

My Girlfriend of 10 years & I have seen John Mayer 4 times together. We're finally getting married next September, this should be our wedding song. I'm very upset this didn't make Continuum :(

Wow, I didn't think it would live up to the hype of the title, but... I gotta admit. Continuum is why I play guitar the way I do. Had that song made the cut, it would be burned in my head and a part of my repertoire for the last 16 years. Really beautiful.

I totally get this. Just last week I finished a song I started 14 years ago. It was ONE line at the end of the verse that I was stuck on. Over the years I would revisit it with no luck in coming up with the right line. But last week, alas I figured it out. Now I plan on recording it :)

A real treat to hear the song again after 17 years. I'm convinced if this was released on Continuum it easily could have been his own "Thinking Out Loud" mega hit. It still seems like a really special song to him and when the time is right it'll probably come out. (The fact he can still remember how to play it and remember all the lyrics when usually forgets all his old songs live says a lot IMO.)

I cant believe he did not finish it. Many other musicians put their literally shit on the internet and song that good has not seen the daylight.
